..with all the immigrants who've come to the UK over the past few years?

Given that I suspect you think there are far too many here and that they are a major cause of our current housing and jobs shortage?

Just asking! :-)

Tucsongirl they are in France and Spain, mostly

I disagree, there would be no point in free movement of people wicked if people from UK only went to Spain and France.

mrsruffallo · 26/05/2014 18:50

People are not moving to Lithuania, Romania or Bulgaria. It's just not happening. And if they did they would have to learn the language pretty quickly and get a job.

TheFairyCaravan · 26/05/2014 18:51

I totally agree with diaimchlo. I am so bloody angry that people have voted UKIP because of their anti-European and immigration stance, without giving a flying fuck to anything else!

I'm disabled, they think I should be in a institution not living at home with my family. Remember everyone is an accident or illness away from being disabled.

The person who topped the vote in the East Midlands, Roger Helmer MEP, tweeted this in the past Mr Helmer tweeted: "Why is it OK for a surgeon to perform a sex-change operation, but not OK for a psychiatrist to try to 'turn' a consenting homosexual?".

I'd rather be part of the EU and have immigration than have a flat rate if income tax.

And to whoever asked about moving to Latvia, Romania or Bulgaria, right now that seems a much better idea than living in a country where people want these fucking idiots to represent them!

mrsruffallo for example see this article www.telegraph.co.uk/expat/expatlife/8836270/If-Britain-left-the-EU-what-would-happen-to-expats.html Many political commentators think that British expats abroad would be likely to be asked to leave. But UKIP voters don't seem to let a few facts get in the way of heir immigrant-bashing. I'm simply trying to point out that this country would be much worse off without the free movement of people into and out of the EU than better off, and the facts and figures support me. Irrational xenophobia doesn't care about the facts, of course!

mrsruffallo · 26/05/2014 18:53

Well, The Fairy Caravan, I think you may be wrong there.

RazzleDazzleEm · 26/05/2014 18:53

Health service on a par with the NHS? Translators? I don't think so

The whole point is - its all equal, all the benefits are equal, so if you want to go to Poland or Latvia you get the same as they do coming here.

I believe for instance a large chunk of Tax Credits are funding children in Poland, so you work in Poland and you can also send money back to England for your DC.

YES, there is a difference in cost of living...but when your there you woldnt notice it.

Its all equal.

mrsruffallo · 26/05/2014 18:55

Political commentators are paid to keep the status quo. I don't think people who voted UKIP are necessarily xenophobic or anti immigrant.

Teeb · 26/05/2014 18:55

I'm not sure that the quality of life is equal between the UK and Eastern Europe, or that there is equality in opportunities.

TheBogQueen · 26/05/2014 18:56

Wtf is UKIP about?

It seems to be that at the moment they are the acceptable face of racism and xenophobia.

They seem happy to be in the pay if the EU while doing fuck all. Although it looks like there are plenty if right wing/Neo nazi ftiends with whom they can ally.

UKIP just make me think of washing your car on a Sunday, masons wives dinners, golf clubs...

mrsruffallo · 26/05/2014 18:56

You want to me to desert my DC, live them alone in London, so that I can earn tax credits and send them back to them?
I don't think even Angela Merkel would agree to that.

RazzleDazzleEm · 26/05/2014 18:57

People are not moving to Lithuania, Romania or Bulgaria. It's just not happening

Id be interested to see your figures on that.

mrsruffallo · 26/05/2014 18:57

Definately not for women, teeb. Especially one who has deserted her children.

mrsruffallo · 26/05/2014 18:58

Nigel Farage has said he won't share a platform with the FN because of their racist policies.

RazzleDazzleEm · 26/05/2014 19:00

mrsruffallo

You dont have to do that, but if you found a good job in poland you could do that. its your choice

mrsruffallo · 26/05/2014 19:01

I don't speak Polish though!! How would my kids get by without me?

WickedWitchoftheNorthWest · 26/05/2014 19:01

Mrsruffallo no political commentators are not paid to keep the status quo not sure why you think that? There majority of political commentators on all sides of the debate. Also while many British immigrants to the EU are inFrance and Spain there are plenty elsewhere also - for example claiming benefits in Germany www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2468189/Dont-mention-ze-dole-One-tenth-Britains-expat-population-claiming-23-000-unemployment-payments-Germany-benefits-Europe-revealed.html

Of course I didn't vote UKIP I'm saying that leaving the EU would not be good for Britain from an immigration perspective - would be a net negative for us.

RazzleDazzleEm · 26/05/2014 19:03

I'm not sure that the quality of life is equal between the UK and Eastern Europe, or that there is equality in opportunities

Confused

They have a history of being under communism, there are going to be large pockets of poverty.

However they had to bring themselves up to certain levels to join the EU.

I suggest you rid yourselves of your prejudices against these countries...I am sure like Croatia etc there will be lots of holidays being promoted there soon.

mrsruffallo · 26/05/2014 19:03

Do you think Germany has much in common with Latvia? Or Romania?

WickedWitchoftheNorthWest · 26/05/2014 19:03

And of course UKIP is anti immigrant that is their main position!! www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/ukip-accused-of-scaremongering-in-antiimmigration-poster-campaign-ahead-of-european-elections-9273100.html

WickedWitchoftheNorthWest · 26/05/2014 19:04

In that they are all in Europe yes that is the point!

diaimchlo · 26/05/2014 19:05

Mrsruffalo how is Thefairycaravan wrong?

mrsruffallo · 26/05/2014 19:06

Most Brits are emigrating to Australia, India and China. I can' find no evidence on the net of waves of Britons heading for Romania to share in their glorious standard of living.

RazzleDazzleEm · 26/05/2014 19:07

Do you think Germany has much in common with Latvia? Or Romania?

Not sure who that was directed too, but they all had to get up to the same levels to join the EU.

I am sure lots of people from UK and other places have flocked to the EE countries, imagine what you could buy there..

I am sure as time goes on they will only become more and more popular

Immigration is a huge benefit to the host country, there is no way its all one way from poor Eastern European Nations to Rich Western Nations.

Why would the ex poor EE countries want everyone to leave and no one to go there. That would be maddness and they are loosing people and having no immigraiton benefits at all.

We need immigration in the UK which is already densly populated and mulit cultural with links world wide, imagine how much MORE EE countries need it....

mrsruffallo · 26/05/2014 19:07

Claiming she's be better off in Eastern Europe. I think that would be a big mistake.
