I'm wondering where you live that your neighbour thinks BMW arent common? Confused

HecatePropylaea · 10/05/2014 16:37

Thats a very expensive 'screw you'

He could have saved ££££££££ by mooning the neighbour and giving him the finger Grin

Here, have a medal Biscuit

I think boasting about it on MN is common. Grin

But in all honesty I don't think there is anything classy about owning a BMW. In my very very honest opinion I think they are really rather common.

Sneezecakesmum · 10/05/2014 16:39

Will ask DH to moon next time and give me the money for a holiday Grin

Weird thread.

Sneezecakesmum · 10/05/2014 16:41

I know they are common, as in lots of them, but also rather nice to drive and expensive.

Can you direct some of the ire at a neighbour who would tell your husband to his face he is too common to be driving a nice car?

cafebistro · 10/05/2014 16:41

I wasn't aware that BMW's are considered 'posh' . I would have thought quite the opposite tbh.

Only1scoop · 10/05/2014 16:41

"Our neighbour told him he...." What??

Likes hairdresser cars Smile

CouldBeBusier · 10/05/2014 16:41

Ain't nothing stealthy about it, as boasts go.
Everyone involved IBU.

Sneezecakesmum · 10/05/2014 16:42

AIBU is always a weird thread. Where have you been?

OP posts:
Branleuse · 10/05/2014 16:43

you talk to the neighbours AND think bmws are posh??

are you northern?

Sneezecakesmum · 10/05/2014 16:44

DH and neighbour both v U. Me, I'm not involved!

Tbh. I think the sports car thing is just a boys toy thing and the neighbour was incidental, but it definitely rankled with him!

If he like them let him buy them. Anyone polite woudl not point out what they tend to indicate (rather common etc, nouveau riche). It's his money to spend as he wants. I want more female mumsnetters to earn a fortune and buy their own cars.

HecatePropylaea · 10/05/2014 16:44

I once bought a bag because the stall holder did a head tilt at me and whispered that it was quite expensive.
I was all 'how very dare she'

not quite in the same league of course Grin

Somepercentagenotcool · 10/05/2014 16:44

BMWs are the very epitome of common to me (and I don't mean lots of them).

Sneezecakesmum · 10/05/2014 16:44

Nope totally southern, so is DH!

TequilaMockingbirdy · 10/05/2014 16:44

Well we have a Honda Civic Type R, a push bike and a micro scooter. I think our modes of transportation are infinitely more superior

Wink
Somepercentagenotcool · 10/05/2014 16:45

Having said that I would rather love a Z4 - common as muck, me!

MrsTerryPratchett · 10/05/2014 16:45

Drug dealers don't even drive them any more because they are too common. That's common.

teaandthorazine · 10/05/2014 16:46

BMWs are common, and convertible BMWs are really common. Is it white, by any chance?

Sneezecakesmum · 10/05/2014 16:47

I did buy my own little car. And to me it's just an A to B thing.

Never understood the car thing. Neighbour is so up herself it's a bit irritating but I just thought it was funny!

Only1scoop · 10/05/2014 16:47

Blimey....I'm off to sell family 'ex drug dealer' common as muck old car....
