To think DH only very very slightly U for buying another BMW because our neighbour told him he was too common to own a BMW?

Neighbour thinks she is better than us and DH shouldn't be driving a car which is nicer than their cars!

She even made fun of him because he had a hole in his sock! She is a bit of a bitch tbh but I ignore it all for the sake of harmony Smile

How did she know he had a hole in his sock?

Serenitysutton · 10/05/2014 17:14

I don't think they're posh cote. They're usually driven by Arab Playboys or new Russians. Neither of whom are in any way posh.....

Only1scoop · 10/05/2014 17:14

I'm confused. We buy any car .com now Confused

Frogisatwat · 10/05/2014 17:14

Are you my sister in law?

Somepercentagenotcool · 10/05/2014 17:14

My BILs father is proper posh, as in old money blue blood type posh, and he drives one of those crappy Toyota Prius hybrid cars.

CoteDAzur · 10/05/2014 17:15

I don't think we live in the same city or even the same country, Serenity.

Sneezecakesmum · 10/05/2014 17:15

Bentleys, lamborginis (excuse spelling) and bugatti......sooooo ostentatious and most definitely only by Russian oligarchs !

Somepercentagenotcool · 10/05/2014 17:16

I think a nice Jaguar is a proper 'gentleman's' car.

Sneezecakesmum · 10/05/2014 17:17

Hole in sock....used to be friends and went to mutual dinner party type meals!

mercibucket · 10/05/2014 17:18

am all confused

so, neighbour thinks bmw is posh? but actually they are hairdresser cars (which i thought were those cheaper convertibles but maybe bmw convertibles covers it too?)

neighbour thinks your dh is common? and your dh buys a bmw convertible to prove neighbour wrong? or right?

does neighbour fancy your dh and this is weird flirting behaviour? do you live on a new estate? are you all middle managers in retail? am v confused

ilovesooty · 10/05/2014 17:18

I'm also interested in how she knew he had a hole in his sock.

You seem a bit obsessed with her.

BloominNora · 10/05/2014 17:18

Nah, I think your DH misheard.

The neighbour didn't say he was too common to drive a BMW, she said he was too common for driving a BMW Grin

Serenitysutton · 10/05/2014 17:18

What difference does that make? Still the same people driving them.

CoteDAzur · 10/05/2014 17:19

Yes, you sound like a really harmonious type, OP.

I thought I'd seen it all but must admit I've never before come across a twat someone who bought a third car of a specific make because their neighbour said they shouldn't have that brand. Or his spouse who comes online to tell the world that they can buy a BMW, despite their neighbour's objections Confused

ilovesooty · 10/05/2014 17:19

I don't stare at people's socks when I'm eating with them.

CoteDAzur · 10/05/2014 17:20

Serenity - The point is that it is not the same people driving them.

Do you understand that different people live in your city/country and mine?

Sneezecakesmum · 10/05/2014 17:22

It's light hearted ! He bought a sports car because he likes sports cars.

Lighten up please

OP posts:
Serenitysutton · 10/05/2014 17:22

Yeah it is. Do you know how many buggatis there are in the world?
They're probs the same actual cars, transported between Knightsbridge and the south of France by the same people.

MrsTerryPratchett · 10/05/2014 17:25

Blu I think we come from vaguely the same part of the world. I've moved now and we have a MUCH better class of drug dealer with no teeth because they take meth here

vindscreenviper · 10/05/2014 17:26

A dinner party where people walk around in their socks? That sounds bohemian, so quite posh, or could be a wife swap type of party, which may also be posh or very very grim.
Which was it OP?

BigRedBall · 10/05/2014 17:27

How do you all know what cars drug dealers in your areas drive? [suspicious]

Sneeze enjoy your Beemer. I personally hate them! Nothing wrong with a sensible Passat or Focus.

Isabelleforyourbicycle · 10/05/2014 17:30

She has seen his socks = you take your shoes off at home or in other houses = you are all very common.

Proper posh wear their shoes indoors. The car is beside the point.

Hth.

Sneezecakesmum · 10/05/2014 17:31

Noooo not a wife or anything else, swapping party. That went out in the 1990s and I never indulged

Just shoes off for comfort I think. So rude to point it out though. Poor DH he's had to learn to dress himself!

OP posts:
Sneezecakesmum · 10/05/2014 17:32

I kept my shoes, AND EVERYTHING ELSE on! Grin
