To not want PIL to kiss DD on the mouth

I know some families do this, kissing children on the mouth, but I think it's wrong.

PIL came for a visit last week and when they left they both kissed DD, 8 months, on the mouth. I was too shocked to say anything, but feel very uncomfortable about it.

How/ when do I broach the subject with them?

"They have never been out of my line of sight not ever with extended family."

Wow.

Combined with the explanation why is that worthy of a 'wow'?

It was more you only leaving your children with people you've known for 35 years. And presumably you have extended family beyond your mother and PIL?

My dads dead as are my grandparents I have two siblings I occasionally see usually when I'm passing and several siblings I never see as we are never in the same country at the same time,I would not recognise any of my aunts/uncles/cousins if I bumped into them in the street unlikely as they are all in Dubai.

Several of my children have significant disabilities that can be incredibly hard to manage so over the years I've just got used to only using people I know can cope you just get used to doing it that way.

Ofcourse when I see my nieces and nephews I give them kisses just never near the nose or mouth,I've no objections to a face full of my own children's snot but I'm not keen on other children's snot

In that case, I understand why your child has never been out of sight Need. I'm also sorry for the difficult family you have, I've clearly got a very different kind of family so struggled to see where you were coming from, as you did me.

That's a kind thing to say,thank you
