To think that this is a strange combination for siblings' names?

And yes, I know it's none of my business blah blah blah. And for the record I do think that they are both lovely names, however...

A friend of a friend has a DD called Ava, and has just had a baby girl and called her Eva?

AIBU to think that that's practically like calling them both the same name? Plus it just sounds really twee.

I once worked with Concepta who had a twin sist Atracta

loveandsmiles · 10/04/2014 20:58

HahaSmile. My DH Mum named all her boys the same, just changing first letter ~ he is from Middle East ~ can't give real names as will out myself but think along the lines of Bam, Cam, Dam, Fam, Gam and Ham (there's 6 brothers!) ~ crazy woman!!

mineallmine · 10/04/2014 22:11

lovesandsmiles, that reminds me - I taught a child whose two sisters had almost the same name as her- Rana, Jana and Sama. Also from the Middle East.

I know a Millie and Tilly.

My favourite is Derek and Dereka, one can only hope bachelor great-uncle Derek did leave them his fortune.

To the poster who is now worried about Scarlett and Oscar , it's fine. They don't sound the same-The "sc" sound isn't sounded in Os-car, it's not O-scar.

TheLadyMarion · 11/04/2014 00:51

Also boy twins...Shaun and Shane.

LeaveItItsNotWorthIt · 11/04/2014 01:23

My dad's stepmother was greeted by her new next door neighbours with a glad cry of "Hello! Please tell me your name is Jill. I know your husband's name is Jack. We're Victoria and Albert"!

Her name wasn't Jill.
