To think that this is a strange combination for siblings' names?

And yes, I know it's none of my business blah blah blah. And for the record I do think that they are both lovely names, however...

A friend of a friend has a DD called Ava, and has just had a baby girl and called her Eva?

AIBU to think that that's practically like calling them both the same name? Plus it just sounds really twee.

MerryMarigold · 09/04/2014 22:15

ID twins called Alec and Alex, anyone?

And Donald and Donaldson.

HenriettaTurkey · 09/04/2014 22:16

I actually love Bill & Ted!

ladypete · 09/04/2014 22:18

I know of twins Aurella and Aunella (not sure of the spellings)

I went to school with an Ahmed Ahmed. Ok not sibling related but still bloody strange.

I know of a family who have named all their children the same name... there's about 5 of them, boys and girls. Think "Hudah". They are foreign so maybe this is cultural? It must be a nightmare calling them for tea!

ladypete · 09/04/2014 22:19

And I know sisters Saffron and Amber!

Ludways · 09/04/2014 22:21

I know a family where it's tradition to name first born girl & boy Sam (Samantha & Samuel but all shortened) Very confusing at their family parties when grandfather & his sister is called Sam, his 2 eldest (of 4)also called Sam & about 4 grand kids called Sam... Just bizarre!

ProudAS · 09/04/2014 22:22

I heard about twins called Luke and Leia with an older brother called Han!

Shockers · 09/04/2014 22:23

I once took my toddler, I'll call her Stephanie, to the loo in John Lewis, with my mate's toddler, I'll call him Stephan, you get the picture.
While I was chivvying them along to wash their hands a lady said, "Oh what sweet names, are they twins?"
Gosh, do I really look that bonkers?

Oubliette0292 · 09/04/2014 22:30

I know twins called Will and Grace.

I also know a little boy called Isaac who has an older brother called Zac.

bedraggledmumoftwo · 09/04/2014 22:36

I know an ivy and Ivan, although i cant talk, when we announced the birth of our second someone said oh- Izzy and Lizzy! They are only small so don't have nicknames yet but we will probably steer them away from those abbreviations.

I have an Aunty Barbara and an Uncle Ken - Barbie and Ken. I used to love that association when I was younger. Grin

I worry about this a bit with mine. I have Ava, Asher and Casper. When I call the boys they do both look up! I just like the "uh" ending, I guess!

Artandco · 09/04/2014 23:00

Actually my uncle and his wife are Paul and Paula! Suppose that's not so bad as married into those names

However my grandmothers brother ( my great uncle?), was Edward Edwards! And he obv never changed his name, it was just given
