So we were talking about relationships at work and I said - I can't believe I've been with my partner for 5 years, that shit cray"

My colleague gave me this look Confused and said don't ever say that again and then laughed.

Aibu to think I can say what I want.

I shuddered and told someone that they could not pull off the phrase 'Totes amaze'. I don't regret it and would do it again!

maras2 · 31/03/2014 14:36

Christ I need the Equivalent of the Rosetta Stone to even understand Urban Dictionary. And I used to be such a ' Hep Cat ' < sobs >

FrigginRexManningDay · 31/03/2014 15:05

Even dd who is 15 wouldn't say Shit Cray. Ds might, hes 12. I think most people trying to talk like pre teens just sound ridiculous.

funnyossity · 31/03/2014 16:11

It's a sad day when I can't even understand the definition.Sad

Hoppinggreen · 31/03/2014 16:47

As a middle class white woman in my 40's is it ok to use that phrase in a post modern ironic way?
I think it would go down really well at the WI.
" ooh, Celia, this home made jam is lovely"
" yeah pippa, that shit cray"

Lj8893 · 31/03/2014 16:53

Do it hopping

Minnieisthedevilmouse · 31/03/2014 17:32

Hopping, I'd def rather be that kinda lady tbh. There's something inspiring about it that me in my 30s just looks sad being.

Am v looking forward to that point again in my life. :)

TheEnchantedRose · 31/03/2014 17:58

It's almost as bad as that woman on this morning who said "don't be gel be ream"

Sorry I hate correcting people for spelling, but it's -

"Don't be jel, be reem"

Jel as in jealous.

And reem as in some shit that Joey Essex made up.

frogslegs35 · 31/03/2014 18:53

Wow! people actually say this shit ? Hmm

I'm quite 'down with the kids' as I own 3 teenagers :) (Okay, not really down with them, but I'm aware of the stupid shit they say) and I've never heard them use 'cray' for 'crazy'. I'd possibly consider kicking them if they did :)

:) :) Hopping

Lj8893 · 31/03/2014 18:54

Joey Essex didn't make reem up!!! He copied it from the remake of The Firm!!

Forgettable · 31/03/2014 19:33

sykadelic · 31/03/2014 19:42

I've heard it before, but as "cray-cray" www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cray%20cray

Here's "cray" www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cray

As a well-spoken adult in a professional field, I would only ever say that when I'm mocking someone or something for having said it or for speaking in that manner, but never at work, only to friends.
