...to feel strongly that women should not wash their private parts with soap, nor use feminine freshness wipes?

And the reason this is bothering me now is because I have had an argument with my (otherwise lovely) "waxing technician" because every time I go for a brazilian she insists on wiping me, inside my vagina after every spread of wax, with these packeted wipes.

How is it that we are in 2014 and the medical profession has not done a good enough job to make women aware that using products which remove the oils/mucous from places like the urethra/vagina/anus, causes problems with bacterial infection?

Thank you itsall, see op? You are actually meant to wash those areas daily and possibly with soap (be it unperfumed).

Just don't shove anything up your actual vagina (which is not what you think it is so maybe have a google at some pics when you've got a spare minute).

MissMooMoo · 21/03/2014 19:50

I don't wash INSIDE the hole with soap but I do wash the lips, anus, basically everything outside with soap everyday, I cant imagine not doing that!
Really don't think she is doing anything wrong OP, I have been getting waxes for years and years and my waxer always gave a quick wipe over before she applied the wax.

TalkieToaster · 21/03/2014 19:50

Wotta, if you have to do it, just wash the mons pubis with the minty gel and let it trickle down. Otherwise it burns.

Mons pubis - that's the bit on the front where most of the hair grows, OP.

JohnnyBarthes - very sensible of you. I carry my lipstick in mine. I tried an eyeshadow palette once, but the corners made it very uncomfortable when I sat down.

ikeaismylocal · 21/03/2014 19:52

Op are you seriously more concerned about a medical wipe touching your genital area than you are about HOT WAX(!) touching your genital area.

How on earth can hot wax full no doubt with chemicals be less dangerous to your vagina/vulva?

It's probably better to use a presumably ph balanced wipe to clean up residue from the waxing products.

Upyourbumscum · 21/03/2014 19:52

What the effing jeff? I have my eyebrows done and the beauty therapist has to wipe them to get rid of excess wax residue- why would you want wax scum on your chuff?!?!

I don't understand non soap users either, as for the no soap on your bum hole stuff- wouldn't it start to smell like, well, shit if you didn't give it a proper wash?

You stinky lot!!

Needlesswidow · 21/03/2014 19:53

OK for the sake of my biology lesson

My labia are the inner flaps - right?

My labia are often parted - not closed.

Inside the labia is my vulva -right?

Well she wiped there! That's bad. I will get thrush!

Upyourbumscum

Now be honest bumscum you've changed your name for this thread haven't you Grin

Upyourbumscum · 21/03/2014 19:54

Hahaha! No, very fitting though!

GingerRodgers · 21/03/2014 19:54

ITS NOT UP YOUR VAGINA SO YOU WONT GET THRUSH

jeeeesus....Hmm

JohnnyBarthes · 21/03/2014 19:55

Owllady I've been staring at that diagram and staring at the mirror I'm holding between my legs. There is a well positioned Anglepoise lamp and I even have my glasses on. Yet I cannot see my hymen. Am I normal?

CoteDAzur · 21/03/2014 19:55

Lordy Hmm

TalkieToaster · 21/03/2014 19:56

This might help:

...to feel strongly that women should not wash their private parts with soap, nor use feminine freshness wipes?
SchroSawMargeryDaw · 21/03/2014 19:56

You don't even use soap to wash your anus? That is seriously disgusting, no wonder she was wiping you down.

Also, if you don't want people questioning whether you should or should not wax, maybe you shouldn't be telling people how to wash their own fanjos!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/03/2014 19:56

My labia are the inner flaps - right?
Labia Minora. Labia majora are the outer, hairy (not in your case) lips.

Inside the labia is my vulva -right?
No. Your vulva is the sum of your external genitalia. Inside your labia is inside your labia (unless something was inserted into either your vagina or urethra.

juneybean · 21/03/2014 19:56
Hmm
Upyourbumscum · 21/03/2014 19:57

Google 'blue waffle' I dare you....

Needlesswidow · 21/03/2014 19:57

FannyMCFartflaps did you also change your name for this thread?!

OP posts:
ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/03/2014 19:58

Or google "sootikin" - quite pertinent to this thread I feel...

Mintyy · 21/03/2014 19:58

One of the maddest ops I have ever read on Mumsnet.

If you are worried about infections in your vagina Hmm or indeed your vulva why on earth are you having all your pubic hair ripped off??

I can just about concede that vulvas don't need to be washed with anything other than water if you feel strongly about it, but your bottom will not be clean if you don't wash properly.

I can only hope this is a very silly windup.

JohnnyBarthes · 21/03/2014 19:58

Talkie I find the vaginal environment less than perfect for the storing of eyeshadow. It is too humid, for a start - and yes the angles of the palette are quite uncomfortable.

I use long lasting eyeshadow, thus negating the need to carry it about with me for touch ups.

JohnnyBarthes · 21/03/2014 20:00

Shock Talkie I don't appear to have a scrotal sac, either :(

scarletforya · 21/03/2014 20:00

Please wash your anus with soap. Your anus is your arse Op. Just in case you don't know your arse from your elbow. Hmm

Upyourbumscum · 21/03/2014 20:00

itsallgoing Fuuuck, it looks like a bit of old chicken.

Needlesswidow · 21/03/2014 20:01

There are various internet articles which say that you should not wash any mucous membranes with soap or freshening wipes. That includes just inside the rectum, just inside the vagina and around the urethra.

I just don't know how to link them

You have a tail though, right? Please tell me you have a tail.
