There are many threads on here featuring the annoying comments said to mothers of boys or mothers of girls.

Mixed sex families never seem to receive such comments.

Also, if you're pregnant with DC2, people always assume that you want this child to be a different sex to your first - Why?

I have two DDs and am expecting a third DD, the amount of times that people have said what a shame you are having another girl, or oh no not another girl. I get quite offended. Our baby is a surprise in any case, so we were not trying for a boy in any way. I either firmly say we are delighted to be having another girl, or well this one is a surprise so we were not aiming to have a boy in particular. It will be easier actually since there will be no issue with sharing a room later on. So the need to move house when they get older has been eased (a little at least).

"elQuinto"

I very much understand what she went through

so far we had

boy
boy
boy
boy
MC (girl)
boy
girl
?

when pg with DS5 I actually lost it a few times and when asked/told variations of "are you trying for a girl? " "oh I hope it's a girl" etc I found myself replying
"well we would have had a girl by now but she died so I don't give a shit about boy or girl as long as baby is healthy!" Angry

now everyone is bugging me about a sister for DD. as if I had any control over that! it never ends.
and it does stress me out a lot, being made to feel I'm expected to produce something beyond my control.
I do wish people thought about that before opening their mouths.

Zing tell them you expect your next is a girl as you wrapped an elastic band around your DP's left testicle - as you'd read somewhere that right testicles carry girl-sperm Grin

your Dgm - hats off to her, definitely!

Grin @ elastic band!

yep, 7th aka the last one.
it is a bit of struggle.
especially when I moan about stuff and DH says "well that's probably because you are older too"Confused

it's hard to not throw shoes at him or hit him with a brick
