to want to try coke just once?

I'm nearing a significant and have a bit of a bucket list.
This is one thing that I'm considering.
Sourcing it shouldn't be a problem.
I've tried softer drugs in my midtwenties, but am now just got a yearning to give it a go in a very controlled environment. But and a little bit concerned about the aftermath.
AIBU to be thinking like this?

Do you have any heary conditions? High blood pressure? Ever get heart palpitations?

theywillgrowup · 20/01/2014 22:44

oh god i hope Nigella hasnt started a craze, much like her ham in cola Grin

JenBehavingBadly · 20/01/2014 22:44

I've done it and once is once. TBH it's all down to quality.

When I was at uni we had a list to try and worked out way through it. Prob not the best idea, but it had some amusing moments. Ahh to be young and feckless again.

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 20/01/2014 22:45

And also- what if you like it?

PoppySeed2014 · 20/01/2014 22:46

Yabu. It's illegal and somewhere along the production and supply chain there are children and adults suffering horrendously. Drugs are directly responsible for human trafficking, abuse of every description and hideous corruption.

And they're not wonderful for your body.

Don't buy into any of it. Please.

Thatisall · 20/01/2014 22:46

I thought you meant cola (so sheltered). I wouldn't because I'm terrified of drugs but if you're going to do it then do your research. Find out how much can kill you (if that's an amount that something that can be quantified) etc and what it shouldn't be mixed with (like humans).

Where to get it? No clue. Last time I saw someone do coke it was off a loo seat and the time before it was at student digs.

Really I wouldn't bother, aren't there better things to put on your bucket list?

CentreParting · 20/01/2014 22:47

I'm quite healthy. I don't know the answer to what if I like it.

Alcohol is more fun- I went through a phase of taking it now and then and the anxiety and paranoia afterwards was horrific.

thoroughlymodernmillie · 20/01/2014 22:47

Why don't you try the diet version first then when you are feeling up to it go full fat.

BarbarianMum · 20/01/2014 22:49
bellasuewow · 20/01/2014 22:49

Go for it op it's totally fair trade no people were harmed in the making of it.

WillBeatJanuaryBlues · 20/01/2014 22:49

the prudes of MN, hand holding over a sip of coke.

sounds like fun op, you have nothing to loose! go for it. are you an addictive personality, had alcohol issues and so on? i

Sleepgrumpydopey · 20/01/2014 22:49

The fact it's been hidden up someone's bum somewhere along the supply chair would put me off! But maybe I'm OCD?

meganorks · 20/01/2014 22:50

If you want to do it then do it. But you will probably just be a bit disappointed. Its hard to get good stuff. And whatever its cut with usually makes you need a shit. Just get some senakot!

ephemeralfairy · 20/01/2014 22:50

No. It will turn you into a big twatty twat. You know all those really annoying blokes who talk too loud and gesticulate and sniff at you, and expect you to be grateful for the attention? They're on coke. It is not a good look.

Mephedrone on the other hand....Grin

(No, not really.)

GimmeDaBoobehz · 20/01/2014 22:50

How old are you?

Wouldn't advise it over 40 at all

BillyBanter · 20/01/2014 22:52

YANBU. If you want to try it, give it a go. Don't go all Whitney Houston on us though.

It'll probably be rubbish.

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 20/01/2014 22:52

Well when people like something and it makes them feel good, they tend to want to feel that way again. If you intend to become an habitual user then ok but saying you just want to try it once is a bit naive unless you make a comitent to yourself beforehand that whether you like it or not you wouldnt do it again ever. I also agree with the poster highlighting the devastation the production and import of coke creates.

selsigfach · 20/01/2014 22:53

I enjoyed it but it's not very different to having a couple of glasses of wine. Mdma on the other hand is awesome, like your best orgasm ever x 100, but probably not worth the come-down or risks. Not just the health risks, but your safety (turned me into a raging sex pest, demanding sex off my friends, definitely needed to only be with very good friends who would ignore that!). I dabbled a few times at uni, wouldn't want to now I'm grown up/working.

MoonlightandRoses · 20/01/2014 22:55

YABU - I'm with Poppy and Barbarian on this - if you're going to do drugs, do please use one that doesn't drop quite so much misery on other people.

willowking · 20/01/2014 22:55

I wouldn't bother, what you don't know you can't miss. I am massively anti drugs though, despise the things.

PickleSarnie · 20/01/2014 22:56

All it does is keep you awake and possibly turn you into an annoying prat. I, off course, was witty and hilarious (in my head at least) the one time I tried it. Sleep is much more fun. But I'm old and boring.

Salmotrutta · 20/01/2014 22:57

OP - maybe you should ask yourself what you would think of your DC doing drugs when they are older?

I assume you'd think it was fine? Hmm

VampyreofTimeandMemory · 20/01/2014 22:57

also you don't wanna be banging on about how awesome drugs were when you're older because it gives the opposite impression of what you'd want it to... Hmm

ballroomblitz · 20/01/2014 22:58

Personally I wouldn't bother and I took a lot of different drugs in my youth frequently. Stuff you normally get here is cut with all sorts, the coke abroad is a different kettle of fish though.

I'd be too scaredy to take anything now, a large part of it being I'd be too paranoid to enjoy it worrying in case something happened to me now I have dc that depend on me.
