to want to try coke just once?

I'm nearing a significant and have a bit of a bucket list.
This is one thing that I'm considering.
Sourcing it shouldn't be a problem.
I've tried softer drugs in my midtwenties, but am now just got a yearning to give it a go in a very controlled environment. But and a little bit concerned about the aftermath.
AIBU to be thinking like this?

Don't waste your bucket list on coke. If you're going to do anything do MDMA. I don't think it's more risky either.

i can not see the problem in wanting to try drugs not everyone becomes an addict you are not going to get thrown in prison for carrying one wrap and taking a small amount you will not overdose. these fears do not stop people doing want they want to do

we know the dangers of drink yet most of us on here think nothing drinking

if anything what should stop you wanting to dabble is the cruelty of the drug trade, that again can but said about other things if we look at how products we buy are sourced but it is something that may put you off

some people are more experimental than others

i have had some great times in the past taking coke and at times felt pretty crap after

Why. Where is the thrill in doing something that could result in a conviction on your criminal record.

I am surprised how may have said they have tried it.

Cokes crap. And I don't understand anybody who has been through sleepless nights with kids actually deliberately keeping themselves awake.....it just makes you talk compulsively as if you have to get it all out.....I stopped taking it when I realised it was just the ritual I enjoyed.

MDMA is muuuuuch better.

If you really want a drug experience before you die I wholly recommend MDMA. Beware the come down though. I think it's very safe as long as you are sure what it is (you can buy testing kits), and start off very small. Grin best nights of my life when I was younger (pre kids).

Coke is boring for boring people. No sooner do you get high then you come down and need to keep snorting to get any effect.
A controlled environment sounds equally as boring.
I think you'd be very disappointed.

I wouldn't recommend it. The first time I did it my reaction was 'where have you been all my life??' Loved it, had the best time ever & thought it helped me become the person I'd always wanted to be. (Anyone who's ever spent any time with someone who's full of coke will know that that person is an ARSE!) So of course, I did it again and again... Things went downhill very quickly, it became less & less fun & more about needing it to be sociable. I became even more of an arse & destroyed my life for a while. I nearly died in a club toilet (i know, what a cliche!). I have memories that will haunt me forever.

Now, I'm not saying this would happen to you, just that trying it once would give you a very skewed view of what it is actually like. A bit like having one night of awesome sex with psychopath. (Oh, and sex on coke? Terrible. Bang away like porn stars for hours & hours without anyone getting anywhere. Don't bother)

I am not a boring person because I refuse to take drug and I wouldn't encourage another person to do so either.

The thought of my DC taking drugs fills me with horror.

For all those who said go and try it, I will ask you a simple question would you like your DC taking drugs. Would you say did you have a good time or would you want drugs in your home.

If the answers are no, why the fuck are you encouraging this OP to do so.

Before you try it, volunteer for your local CARATs team or your local equivalent (CARATs might just be in prisons) and spend some time with people whose entire lives have been destroyed by just one line. It's a sobering experience.

I had a speed addiction when I was 17 I would take it 6 days and sleep the 7th I would eat straight off a knife. I also done a number of e's. It took a great toll on my mental health which was already bad. 6/7 months from when I started taking it I had tried to take an overdose. It was only when I did this did my mum find out about my problem.
Iv never tried coke and people who I knew who have done have said its rubbish and last no longer then 15 minutes

A friend a had a coke addiction which he struggled to beat and ended up In a huge amount of debt because of it.

I also had a realstionship with heroin addict (who was clean when it started) watched how he destroyed his life and that of his family when he started using again which started with dabbling with number of drugs weed, coke, speed, drone, Valium etc before the heroin.

A lot of people will say it's just the once but many people die from just taking it just the once or end up chasing the feeling they got.
Is it really worth runnin the risk because I'm pretty sure many an addict thought that they would be ok too because it's only once right ...

Glad I'm not the only innocent who thought the drink. I imagined somebody who'd been brought up by uber strict sugar hating parents!

I've never been tempted to try any drugs. Except maybe weed as I wonder what it's like being totally chilled out. But not worth the risk IMO. I'm just not that daring. But I've never even tried a cigarette (or coffee, or red wine!) so not that surprising really. I get my kicks from chocolate :o

YANBU to have a bucket list or to be curious enough to want to try coke. But I really don't think you should. Pick something else from your list and have a fantastic time doing something else. FWIW I would rather like to try Ecstasy since a friend told me of how much fun it was in his youth, but it's just not "me" these days so I won't. There's one thing having a drug induced hospital or Police visit in your teens or twenties (not that I did but I risked it occasionally) but I'd feel pretty pathetic now I'm over 40. If I had children I definitely wouldn't take drugs.

also surprised at how many people are recommending mdma it can cause horrendous panic attacks. thinking you're about to die is a real buzz kill.

Coke is crap, its like a trumped up speed, I got more out of getting pissed than taking those two. MDMA I loved though. A little too much as it sparked off an anxiety disorder.
