To ask how many of you have a 'natural' lady garden?

I used to sport the landing strip up until I was about 6 months pregnant with ds who is now 2. I stopped shaving as I couldn't see what I was doing, also might sound daft but kind of wanted it to be the way nature intended to give birth.
Since then I haven't shaved, waxed, trimmed etc. I'm not massively hairy so it's not a full on 80s style bush.
DP moaned the other day as he liked it the way I used to have it. Hmm. I sort of told him tough luck it's my bits and quite frankly I cba and like not having itchy stubble. He watched our Baby come out of there fgs surely he realises it's not a fashion accessory?
AIBU to not make the effort for dp?

Not me - Hollywood all the way and I absolutely love it.

Totally love the 70 s bush look on others and it's fine however a woman chooses to have it but I would never have hair there again.

JupiterGentlefly · 18/01/2014 21:58

How can you tell if someone is pissed out of their head from an internet forum?,
Anyway not to go off topic, if we have this conversation in the pub some of my friends say 'oh no I am completely natural and I have hardly any hair there anyway' . My completely natural state probably requires an extra dress size to accommodate and therefore I practice minge topiary.

DayAfterYesterday · 18/01/2014 22:00

Hope - every other day in the shower same time as shaving legs and pits takes an additional 2 mins max

BadRoly · 18/01/2014 22:04

I have a wild lady garden, furry legs and pit muffs.

Initially it was due to a skin condition which meant no shaving/waxing/plucking but now I embrace my pit muffs and 70s muff.

OxfordBags · 18/01/2014 22:08

I don't get rid of hair anywhere, except a few random low-growing eyebrow hairs that I would also pluck if I was a man, because they look stupid.

Never have shaved my pubes, never will. I call it my Ruskin-o-meter: if a man finds an au natural bush revolting, off-putting, or whatever, then I know he's a sexist twat who I've had a lucky escape from. Or, as DH once said, when I asked him if he had an opinion on me having a 70s bush: "what sort of sexist loser can be arsed about what someone else's body hair looks like? Especially if they get to shag them". I totally agree with him - I've never heard women discussing what sort of pubes they like on men, or men worrying that their balls are too hairy, etc.

Actually, my bush is a reverse of most waxing - I had alopecia at Uni, and developed a big bald patch at the front of my pubes which has never grown back, so I have a fairly smooth pubis and hairy flaps.

It's all good, baby. I've lived to my forties without my hairiness triggering the apocalypse, funnily enough.

plannedshock · 18/01/2014 22:09

Full Brazilian, underneath, round the back, little strip. Dp doesn't care what it looks like it could have a mullet for all he cares as long as he gets to see it!! It's all for me, feels super clean.

ChocolateTeacup · 18/01/2014 22:12

I have it completely bare and am waxed from waist down, my OH also keeps quite trim other wise he doesn't get oral as I don't like hair in/near my nose!

curiousuze · 18/01/2014 22:12

My fanjo looks like Brian Blessed.

squoosh · 18/01/2014 22:12

'I've never heard women discussing what sort of pubes they like on men'

Really? I've certainly had conversations about this with my friends. I like a moderate amount of deforestation on particularly hairy men. At the other end of the scale I cannot get on board with this new trend for guys to shave it all off. Not for me!

WorraLiberty · 18/01/2014 22:16

I've seen lots of women on MN discussing their DH's facial hair.

I know it's not quite the same as pubes before anyone says it Grin

But plenty of posts over the years where people have said, "Oh I'd be gutted if my DH shaved his beard off". "I cried when my DP shaved his". "I just couldn't fancy him with/without a beard".

I don't really see the difference between that and the OP's DP moaning that he preferred it the way she used to have it.

Obviously he can like it or lump it though, as it's her choice and not his.

Fakebook · 18/01/2014 22:19

I cannot help but think that a man who insists on shaven actually likes a shaven pussy because they like young girls!

Ridiculous comment. That's like saying a man who likes women with short hair, likes small boys.

Lucky we don't go around with our nether regions on display or else innocent men would be called paedos for being with a woman with shaven pubes.

Fakebook · 18/01/2014 22:20

Curiosuze, is it loud like him too?

Weelady77 · 18/01/2014 22:22

Fakebook I totally agree I actually think it's quite strange people comparing it to a child!!

WorraLiberty · 18/01/2014 22:25

I'm a 44yr old woman with boobs...whose had 3 vaginal births.

No-one could ever mistake my fanjo for that of a little girl's...hair or no hair! Grin

lilyaldrin · 18/01/2014 22:25

I'm 29 - I give it a trim occasionally and tidy up the edges if I'm going swimming but otherwise it's natural!

I find leg and pit shaving enough of a chore, I don't want to add any more stubble maintenance.

harticus · 18/01/2014 22:27

That's like saying a man who likes women with short hair, likes small boys

No it isn't.

Growing pubic hair is a sign of advancing sexual maturity.
Growing hair on your head isn't.
Electing to remove something which is a sign of being a sexually mature adult female so that your genitals resemble a pre-pubescent girl again is significant.

Weelady77 · 18/01/2014 22:28

I wax mine but I certainly don't look like a child down there!!!

WorraLiberty · 18/01/2014 22:30

But if you're a grown up, simply removing your pubic hair does not make your genitals resemble a pre-pubescent girl's.

It just makes it look like a woman's genitals with the hair removed.

I swear to god if I knew of any pre-pubescent girls with a fanjo that resembled mine, I'd advice her parents to get her straight to a Doctor Grin

WorraLiberty · 18/01/2014 22:30

*Advise

squoosh · 18/01/2014 22:31

I think the pube free look is in large part due to current trends in porn, but I do not believe that men who prefer smooth skin are closing their eyes and pretending a 45 year old woman is an 11 year old girl.

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 18/01/2014 22:33

I too find it strange it being compared to a child's genitals.

I shave it off because I want to.

No way does my 4 year old and my gentians look the same.

harticus · 18/01/2014 22:37

What your hairless muff looks like all depends on your age Worra.

It really all boils to down to the porn meme thing that someone rightly mentioned upthread. It became mainstream - along with hooker heels and breast implants.
Labial surgery is on the increase now. And vaginal rejuvenation - whatever the fuck that is.

One thing leads to another and it always seems to be the women that are the ones being ripped apart or chopped up.

And all to make themselves feel better of course.

WorraLiberty · 18/01/2014 22:38

Put it this way

My DH is 46yrs old. If he thought shaving his pubes would stop his balls dangling between his legs, and make him look much younger down there...he'd probably do it Grin

Scarletohello · 18/01/2014 22:38

I bloody hate it!

1 refuse to have a wax. Too painful

2 can't see my bits well enough to shave properly

3 object to be expected to look like a prepubescent girl when I'm an adult woman.

4 it's all the fault of porn. When I was a teenager/ in my 20s this wasn't expected

However I have let men shave me, is quite erotic and if they can be bothered then that's fine.

Finally, any man who is lucky enough to get near my fanjo can thank their lucky stars..!

Sallyingforth · 18/01/2014 22:41

I never trim mine - it's naturally short and fair and I prefer it to stay as nature intended. We usually holiday on clothing-optional beaches and I must say that stripped-bare pubes seem to be in the majority these days. It still seems odd and unnatural to me.
