I used to sport the landing strip up until I was about 6 months pregnant with ds who is now 2. I stopped shaving as I couldn't see what I was doing, also might sound daft but kind of wanted it to be the way nature intended to give birth.
Since then I haven't shaved, waxed, trimmed etc. I'm not massively hairy so it's not a full on 80s style bush.
DP moaned the other day as he liked it the way I used to have it. Hmm. I sort of told him tough luck it's my bits and quite frankly I cba and like not having itchy stubble. He watched our Baby come out of there fgs surely he realises it's not a fashion accessory?
AIBU to not make the effort for dp?

The goat was busy sitting in the cafe...using his i.phone and ignoring the friends he was having dinner with.

TravellingToad · 18/01/2014 20:17

i'm 27 and have only ever trimmed with some scissors. if i can be bothered. i'm fair haired though and not that hairy. ie it would never stick out the side of a swim suit etc.

QueenofKelsingra · 18/01/2014 20:17

I'm 29. mine gets a trim round the edge for swimsuit purposes and attacked with scissors when it gets to thick just to neaten it. so fairly natural!

cant be bothered with it, life is too short! (but then I don't do my legs or pits unless they will be on display!)

MammaTJ · 18/01/2014 20:17

I am 46 and am very naturel.

I cannot help but think that a man who insists on shaven actually likes a shaven pussy because they like young girls!

Anyone who has ever suggested it in my life has been given short shrift!

Smartiepants79 · 18/01/2014 20:18

I've never bothered with much more than a tidy up for going on holiday. Can't stand the itchy.
My husband knows its more than his life is worth to comment.
I find landing strips and baldness rather weird to be honest. Your an adult not a 8 yr old girl.

SmartiesMakeMeNaughty · 18/01/2014 20:19

I have a wild untamed bush resembling Shockheaded Peter. But I do trim off the pubic jazz hands which might otherwise stick out the sides of my bikini if I'm going to go swimming.
Part feminism, part indolence on my part.

DownstairsMixUp · 18/01/2014 20:21

I shave it all off, I'm very dark brown haired and it just grows everywhere! I much prefer the feeling of no hair and feel cleaner but do get why women prefer it the other way to, would never judge anyone else's choices. Don't shave my arms though :S

AtYourCervix · 18/01/2014 20:21

I'm 74. It's getting a bit sparse. I'm thinking that by the time I'm 80 I'll probably be hairless again. I'll probably invest in a merkin.

weirdthing · 18/01/2014 20:21

Full bush here - for feminist reasons.

Owllady · 18/01/2014 20:24

I have never be e n bothered either
I trim fir the swimming costume
No one has ever complained :o
I am 36

ineedsomeinspiration · 18/01/2014 20:24

harticus he did once for goodness only knows what reason and then complained about the itching for days!

I shave or trim, not for anyone else's benefit, I just prefer it that way.
You DH just expressed a preference for how you used to have it. It is entirely up to you what you do.

Trumpton · 18/01/2014 20:27

62 here. Trim edges and epilate bikini line every so often. I do feel that totally hairless is a bit pre-pubescent but accept that could be down (Arf!) to my age.

LilBlondePessimist · 18/01/2014 20:28

I get rid of everything from the waist downGrin. Like pp, just prefer the feel, feels a bit cleaner to me (although know it probably isn't really), and heightens intimacy for me. Dh likes it, but also liked it when I let it grow for a while. He just likes it generally Grin.

No one should dictate how you have your pubic hair - your fanny, your rules!

I'm 35 btw.

Weelady77 · 18/01/2014 20:28

Trumpton you are so brave epilating especially down thereShock

cece · 18/01/2014 20:28

I like mine natural, might tame the sides a bit if I go swimming, but only if I cba.

brunette123 · 18/01/2014 20:28

Quick question - is choosing to have a full bush feminist but choosing to have a hollywood or brazilian for oneself and not for a man or for fashion/media images not feminist - isn't feminism being able to choose for oneself?

RalphLaurenLover · 18/01/2014 20:30

I'm silky smooth down there lol! I have shaved ever since I was about 15. Wouldn't have it any other way tbh! That's just me though!

harriet247 · 18/01/2014 20:31

Ooohh dear can of worms here! But I am bald all over save ny hair, even my facr gets waxed! Im blinde but a beautician so we're often carrying out treatments on one another as practice or if we have a spare hour

ineedsomeinspiration · 18/01/2014 20:31

BohemianGirl I think I will show that article to DP.

Ffs phone typosssss

Thurlow · 18/01/2014 20:32

Another one who gives it a periodic trim with the nail scissors, but only when it starts to bug me and be a bit itchy. DP would probably prefer something a bit more manicured but as others have said, life is too short to bother too much.

As for tidying before swimming, I don't always manage that - as far as I'm concerned, if you see something you don't like, it's your fault for looking!

mgrg · 18/01/2014 20:32

So then WorraLiberty, what did you do?

Foxsticks · 18/01/2014 20:32

I get my bikini line waxed and I trim the length but hate the rigmarole of it. Maybe I should just stop. I would never have it all off though, I'd feel weird I think.

BoffinMum · 18/01/2014 20:32

Mine's natural at the moment, but it was always quite discreet anyway really, apart from small token gestures at the top of my legs when wearing a swimsuit. No complaints.
