To be terrified for my friend?

MissWinter01 · 01/01/2014 11:24

Her husband attacked me last night (bruised arms, possible making of a black eye).

Had to wake my daughter up and take her home at 2am. He lost the plot and I don't even know what triggered it. Apparently this isn't the first time he has acted this way both outwith and within the marriage.

I'm actually worried about my friend and her little boys safety.

Call the police, report the assault on you.

gobbledegook1 · 01/01/2014 11:26

Shat Flisspaps said.

FrostySamosa · 01/01/2014 11:26

Have you reported attack to police? You need to tell them immediately, and warn them of the potentially dangerous situation your friend and her son are in.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 01/01/2014 11:26

YANBU.

Definitely report the assault on you.

Have you been able to talk to your friend? What does she want to do?

bragmatic · 01/01/2014 11:26

Have you called the police? I know you might not want to 'make trouble' for your friend, but it is probably the best thing you can do for her at this point,

HectorVector · 01/01/2014 11:27

Exactly what fliss said. You have been assaulted, call the police.

sparklyma · 01/01/2014 11:27

Definitely ring the police and report the assault. It's the best thing to do for her and for you.

Agree - report the assault on you. Hope you're OK. Was your friend there? Did she see the attack?

Tell the police that you are worried for her too, and hope this is the trigger she needs to get out.Sad

Groovee · 01/01/2014 11:28

I'd be calling the police.

Buzzardbird · 01/01/2014 11:29

Please don't leave your friend alone with this mess. Get the police involved now. You could save a life.

MissWinter01 · 01/01/2014 11:29

I haven't. My friend is ok she left with her son shortly after and came to me then to her brothers house. She has begged me not to involve the police. I know I should either way but I don't want to go against her wishes.

I don't ever care about me, I'm just worried about her.

Please report to the police, and tell them your concerns for your friend so they can check she is OK today.

FrostySamosa · 01/01/2014 11:31

Agree you should report regardless of what friend said. How is not reporting going to help her. Also, he attacked YOU - he should be prosecuted.

MissWinter01 · 01/01/2014 11:31

Yes, she was witness to it...

OP posts:
Justforlaughs · 01/01/2014 11:31

Report it.

phantomnamechanger · 01/01/2014 11:32

absolutely tell the police, right away. and tell your friend you are there for her - do you think she will leave him? I hope so, for the kids' sake.

NYR for her - don't take it any more, LTB is better than putting up with it, whatever the fallout and long term difficulties.

Only1scoop · 01/01/2014 11:32

Please call Police. It may save your friends life. Sorry if this sounds dramatic.

MissWinter01 · 01/01/2014 11:32

She is with her brother and apparently not going back. I don't know what to do. Bit of an emotional wreck today.

PacificDogwood · 01/01/2014 11:33

Call the police

The assault on you may be what will protect your friend IF you take it further. Believe me, you'd do her a favour to report it, even if she may not be able to see that just now. Yes, she might be cross with you for doing it, but it is the single most important thing you can do to protect her.

bragmatic · 01/01/2014 11:33

You must report. He'll do it again. He's done it before. I know it must be hard for you, but it's for the best.

What happened to make him do this?

formerbabe · 01/01/2014 11:33

There is no choice but to report him. I would imagine your friend is scared of him hence her response.

MissWinter01 · 01/01/2014 11:34

Her family and mine don't think getting the police involved is a good idea. I hate she is in this position and kind of want to kill him, anger has set in

FunkyBoldRibena · 01/01/2014 11:35

You call the police. It's your only option.

Not calling the police will end up with what, him not getting done for assault and being left to continue his reign of terror.
