Fucking bastarding Minecraft

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 20/12/2013 20:21

DS1 has just discovered it. So DS2 wants to play. And now fucking DH is playing 'so he can help the kids' - yeah, right. It has been the sole topic of conversation for a week, and now I am chilling out with wine and MN and the bastarding thing is going in the background. Seriously, you're 42. Fuck off.

Love it. Had a bit of a marathon with ds1 Saturday afternoon and I swear I was seeing a little white cross everywhere I looked that evening. Dd divides her obsessive energies between MC and Animal Jam equally ATM.

JakeBullet · 20/01/2014 16:38

I wonder if we can persuade Stampy's Mum to join MN. We could get her to do some voice training for Stampy Wink .

To be fair, I dont find him too bad....but after a while I get fed up.

BertieBottsJustGotMarried · 20/01/2014 16:58

The thing that intrigues me about Stampy is that it's quite likely I know someone who knows him. Right sort of age and I've always hung out with gamer types Grin

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 20/01/2014 17:31

Thanks Nettletea for letting us know - my DCs were thrilled to hear you got your MC presents and think your DS is very cool!

To be a little bit controversial - I rather like Stampy! He is positive, nice, encouraging, grateful to his fans, kind to animals, demonstrates good relationships with his friends, doesnt swear. As role models go for kids, he's pretty good. And if you watch the video he posted when he hit one million subscribers explaining how he became such a successful youtuber, it's a brilliant story showing how hard work, persistence and creativity - along with some lucky decisions - can really pay off. A good lesson for all our kids I thought.

Stampy or Miley Cyrus....I'd go for the man with the silly laugh every time!

I might make a new thread but does anyone want to "buddy up" their kids as console minecraft friends? I need to look up how to do it but I believe you can add certain people as friends and then invite them into games. DS is desperate to play online as he's seen his cousin do it but I don't want him playing with total strangers especially if they are adults, he's only 5. However cousin is on xbox and we are on PS3!

Retropear · 20/01/2014 18:51

My boys are insisting they need a headset, last week we had voices of their friends coming out of the TV but the boys could only e-mail back not speak. Is a headset the only way to do it?If so any recommendations?

Bertie tbh I think 5 is a little young to join up.My 2 are 10 and got upset when their village got bashed up.5 year olds are more likely to merrily destroy everything in sight.SmileCould he cope with the upset?

Retropear · 20/01/2014 18:51

Sorry headset for Xbox 360

JakeBullet · 20/01/2014 18:57

DS has only got one friend on Minecraft, he is autistic. ..as is his friend. Neither like their creations being destroyed so they ae happy together.

Agree about Stampy as a role model....his YouTube videos are positive, happy and don't involve swearing. DS positvely wants to be the new Stampy Grin .

He is also desperate to meet him.

BertieBottsJustGotMarried · 20/01/2014 19:16

He likes building stuff in a team and won't destroy stuff if someone tells him not to. Would probably have a total meltdown if someone destroyed his thing but we could brief beforehand I think!

Xbox headset you can get for about £8 in cex, official ones, they plug into the controller.

cornishmum2014 · 01/03/2014 16:01

Hi everyone, I too hav a Stampy and minecraft obsessed 7yr old! ...i have bought minecraft, but how do you get things like Pixelmon? please help..I dont understand!! I am quite computer savvy and design websites but this minecraft thing is going right over my head! thanks :)

HadABadDay2014 · 01/03/2014 16:04

I love minecraft.

acsec · 01/03/2014 16:14

I HATE Minecraft and Stampy-fucking-longnose!! DSS sole topic of conversation on the 3 mile round walk to school was Minecraft for most of January until I banned him speaking to me about. I don't give a shit what the creepers have done, or that you can give a wolf a bone and turn it into a gog etc etc, or the Stampy has made the Hunger Games/ Harry Potter blah blah blah. SHUT UP!!! He is only allowed to speak to his friends about it.

Phew! Now there are some children in my class who spend much of their time and waste reams of paper "crafting pickaxes and diamond swords" and I have had to tell them too, that I do not like to hear about Minecraft, but they are welcome to discuss it with each other to their hearts' content.

HadABadDay2014 · 01/03/2014 16:17

Bloody creeper blew 1/2 my house I took 6 hours to build. Took me a further 30 minutes to rebuild.

TiggyCBE · 01/03/2014 16:22

sssssssssssss...

cornishmum2014 · 01/03/2014 16:36

just got a virus trying to download pixelmon..anyone got any tips to download it??

about minecraft, stampy etc...I suppose it is a stage in independance when they have knowledge about things that we know nothing about! but a little annoying too :)

Maidofastolat30744 · 01/03/2014 18:07

Minecraft has caused my youngest to fall out with his closest friends after they accused him of burning down their house (he didn't).

Some people take it too seriously I guess. He has at least stopped playing it for the timebeing for which I suppose I should be grateful!

Anonymai · 01/03/2014 18:09

I tried playing and nearly shit myself when one of those monsters crept up behind me in a cave.
