Weird parent at school

Summerwood1 · 10/12/2013 21:02

I was friends with a Chinese lady at my daughters school. The Chinese lady's daughter fell out with another child at school, who's mum i also spoke to. Because I talked to the other mum,the Chinese lady now won't speak to me! My daughter and the Chinese lady's daughter are still friends at school and play together at school, but if we walk past the little girl whist she is with her mother, the child turns away and looks at the grass so she doesn't have to say hello! Yet play together every day at school. My daughter asked if she wanted to come and play, she replied 'I can't my mum doesn't know I play with you' . Our only sin was to walk with the other mum she had fallen out with, bizarre behaviour!!!

I for one am very disappointed. I opened this thread feeling sure that finally, here was a thread about me. I've been weirding people out at the school gates for years, and not one of them gives even the tiniest crap. Clearly I am the wrong ethnicity Sad

Chinese whispers. It's all your own fault. She probably heard your constant references to her ethnicity.

Don't worry op, there are 1.5 billion Chinese people in the world. I'm sure another Chinese Lady will come along shortly.

Hermione - are you a Chinese lady? Are you the Chinese Lady the op is referring to or are you a different Chinese Lady? If you are a different Chinese lady, do you understand why the Chinese lady in this post acted the way she did? Perhaps you could give your viewpoint on the behaviour of the aforementioned Chinese lady?

And which is the weird parent to whom the title refers?

Report
Heathcliff27 · 10/12/2013 21:52

How did you know she was Chinese?

I'll admit I clicked on this in case it was about me.

I am definitely not a Chinese lady, though I've heard that ladies from China take school gate weirdness to a whole other level.

Is the OP the weird parent in the thread? It's a bit like a Chinese puzzle box, isn't it?

PassTheSherry · 10/12/2013 21:59

Hi OP. Do you by any chance have an issue with Chinese ladeez?

Maybe she sensed you're a bit racist and cba with you? Shame about your dd though.

Zat you, MadSil?

She has a Chinese lady at school who she only refers to as such.

But then, she is insane.

SaucyJack · 10/12/2013 22:01

Do you actually know your friend's name, or do you always refer to her as the Chinese lady?

My 90 year old neighbour keeps referring to that Chinese lady who lives 2 doors down from us. Are you my 90 year old neighbour?

Meanwhile, somewhere on another forum, there is a Chinese woman posting about the mad British woman who keeps trying to distract her when she is studying the growth patterns of grass.

My DS is mixed race and people often mistake him for being chinese so I feel qualified to comment on this sensibly. Unlike other posters who frankly are just taking the piss. Angry. In fact I could be considered "chinese mum" despite not actually looking chinese. I am "pseudo chinese mum".

Yes you have weird parents at your DD's school. Several would be my guess.

Hope that helps.
