Everyone seems so young on here these days.

Maybe it's time I shuffled off to Gransnet.

90% of my class at secondary school had pictures of David Cassidy,Donny,or Marc Bolan (for the wilder ones) stuck inside their desks! It was an all girls school,of course...

Shosha1 · 09/12/2013 23:03

Oooohhhh and what about that new musical film.
That Sandy in those trousers! Disgusting!

LineRunner · 09/12/2013 23:03

Sue Barker and Cliff Richard were 'an item' in the 70s.

Sparklingbrook · 09/12/2013 23:03

Cheggers, Noel Tidybeard and Posh Paws.

LineRunner · 09/12/2013 23:04

I'd never even heard of a kebab.

Hey you lot I am 69 and enjoy most of mumsnet and my 77 year old dh is always asking, "Is anyone being interestingly unreasonable tonight?"

Sparklingbrook · 09/12/2013 23:07

Coleslaw came in tins made by Heinz and was very posh.

ShylaMcClaus · 09/12/2013 23:08

The humour in the Swap Shop disclaimer that pets or brothers and sisters could not be swapped completely passed me by as a child. I took it as a genuine warning because I was desperate to get rid of my sister still am

thegreylady · 09/12/2013 23:08

My ds is 43 and my baby will be 40 next year Grin

Maybe I should hide all topics about angst at the nativity play casting.

MerryInthechelseahotel · 09/12/2013 23:10

usual I remember how old you are as you are incredibly young my age. Remember you will never be this young again Grin in my class you either liked David Cassidy or Donny

usualsuspect · 09/12/2013 23:11

The telly finished at midnight.

OP posts:
LineRunner · 09/12/2013 23:12

I didn't realise that the Woodentops had 'help', Talc.

usualsuspect · 09/12/2013 23:12

I got over my David Cassidy crush and moved on to Alice Cooper.

OP posts:
MerryInthechelseahotel · 09/12/2013 23:13

Wouldn't know about midnight as we were never allowed up that late but there were hours in the day where there were no programmes on at all Shock

TalcAndTurnips · 09/12/2013 23:13

Yes Liney.

There is quite an expose too of Mrs Woodentop using Controlled Crying at about 2 minutes.

SconeRhymesWithGone · 09/12/2013 23:15

greylady I am not too far behind you. Smile

My oldest child is 42.

I do laugh at the insulting generalizations comments made on here sometimes about the "older generation," perhaps by posters who don't realizing that there is a fairly sizable band of us on here.

80sMum · 09/12/2013 23:17

I know a MNetter who's only 2 years away from her 90th birthday!

usualsuspect · 09/12/2013 23:17

Yes,MILs are often called 'old cows' on here.

It does annoy me.

OP posts:
LineRunner · 09/12/2013 23:20

Someone posted on the Christmas board about buying a present presumably a coffin for an 'old lady' of 52, and I thought, 'Fuck me, that's pretty much my age and my main current thought is getting a shag off the hot builder on Friday night.'

LapsedPacifist · 09/12/2013 23:21

Juist got back from my MA Heritage Management Christmas mas meal - had 3 pints of cider and am getting awful hot flushes bladdered. My fellow students have all gone off to a cocktail bar before heading to a nightclub. It's only Monday night! Shock so I've shuffled home and am making a nice water bottle for bedtime (with a nice milky drink and my Kindle).

Discovered I am older than just about everyone else's parents this evening Hmm.

ZombieFromTheRealmOfGory · 09/12/2013 23:21

Zombie is meeting the delightful thegreylady for coffee in the morning.

usualsuspect · 09/12/2013 23:22

I'm glad I didn't see that thread,Liney.

Were they suggesting Lavender smellies and country file box sets?
