No, I wasn't.

It was so crassly manipulative, Walt ok then oh dear bad stuff happens to Walt because of the meth. Up down up down. Because METH is Bad people.

And he is so so vile in his white underpants. WHY did we have to keep seeing him in his pants?

Miserable op. it's an incredible look at the human co diction and illustrates how no one is good or bad just a sum of the decisions they make. It's extremities make it good tv. You probably prefer downton or something nice.

SamHamwidge · 28/11/2013 09:39

In the middle of s3 currently and am loving it, that's not to say some episodes haven't been misses. One early.episode that had Walt and Jesse stuck in Tuco's trailer for the entire 45 mins was like pulling teeth. I also found Jesse's strip club scene gratuitous and unnecessary. And I hated Walt when he fired sweet nerdy Gale :(

Having said that I am addicted, watch 2 episodes a night and love all the DID extras.

Littledidsheknow · 28/11/2013 09:42

I am enjoying binge watching BrBa on Netflix with DH, but hey, we all like different things! The question wasn't is BrBa good or not, but whether it is unreasonable to hate it. It's not, tastes vary YANBU!

Hullygully · 28/11/2013 10:41

I don't mind the violence, the nastiness, the seedy druggy underworld, hey, I grew up in Sarf Lunnun, what I object to is the manipulativeness, you could plot a graph on Walt's rises and falls, he makes money, he has to lose money (because meth is BAD). Up and down, throughout the series.

I also find Walt utterly unbelievable and his character development frankly ridiculous. I have known plenty of people who work on the less conventional side, and they do what they have to do, but they remain essentially themselves. Walt, a loving family man, turns into a raving loon who bullies and abuses Skyler, the Cipher Wife.

Marie is just ditzy (at least she wasn't blonde) and never seems to go to her nurse job, and imagine trusting her with a syringe, Hank is a walking stereotype.

I did like Gus, but it was intensely annoying not to find out about his past in Chile (and lazy of the writers)

It is absolutely shite. On the advice of you loads of fuckers on here, I wasted 50 hours of my life waiting for it to get better. It didn't.

BunnyLebowski · 28/11/2013 10:56

Yes shady everyone who doesn't like BB must be a simpering Downtown fan Hmm.

As for "it's an incredible look at the human co diction". All I can do is Grin at that claim.

It's a completely soulless and poorly written shambles. The characters are at best ridiculous clichés and at worst glorified cardboard cutouts.

Jesse is the one saving grace but he's not enough to make me go back to it.

Easy television for regular people who want to feel like they're watching something really edgy and cool.

diddl · 28/11/2013 11:05

I don't like the Sopranos either.

I watched series 1 and the first bit of series 2. I liked it but feel no desire really to watch any more.

Hully watch Mad Men. Don Draper is a cunt.

GetOrfOhSodOff · 28/11/2013 11:08

Mind you I wouldn't mind shagging Brian Cranston.

Hullygully · 28/11/2013 11:12

I might, but I don't think I can face the commitment required by box sets. Might stick to MiC

what i like about these series (BB, Sopranos, The Wire) is that you are seeing a person as a whole. Tony Soprano was he a monster or a man who was totally lost in his upbringing and what was expected of him. Walt is not behaving like the man we are led to believe he is. Omar Little through cruel has a moral code that his sticks to

how many people do we know completely not many, and then what is going on in their thoughts we have no idea but this gives us an insight in to that and it is not always as we think it is

most of us have a darker side, why are we watching violent films, series like these if we are not attracted to that in some way

also shows that the american dream is pretty fucked up

I didn't hate it but it certainly wasn't the best series ever made. Some of the characters were shit and the dialogue was very monotone. I found myself struggling to stay interested quite a bit.

noddyholder · 28/11/2013 11:25

Nooooo Mad Men is shite!

Mad Men looks stunning and does the cultural background stuff brilliantly.

But it's SO slow and the storylines are rubbish!!

Sorry Don you big ride.

I have been told to watch BB but not watched it yet. Loved Orange is the New Black and am liking Raylan Justified at the moment.

The Wire was amazing but watched that years ago when it was on BBC.

noddyholder · 28/11/2013 11:32

God he is hideous.

noddyholder · 28/11/2013 11:33

Orange is the new black is great. Really loved House of Cards too. I have my BB lego on ebay atm hoping to make a killing for xmas!
