to not want to take 2 single duvets with me when I visit SIL?

I'm visiting DH's family abroad in December and taking DD (age 3) with me. SIL has asked me to pack 2 single duvets in my luggage. I'm not that keen on the idea, but am prepared to be told that IABU.

My reasons for not wanting to do it are:
they will take up a lot of room, even if I vaccum pack;
we're flying Sleezyjet, who are fascists about luggage allowance, so no way can I go over limit;
I'm already taking over large amounts of chocolate, clothes for SIL, toiletries and some tupperware, so it's not like I'm not doing my bit already;
I've had serious injury and major surgery in the not too distant past and am still a bit wary of lifting too much, so I'd like to attempt to travel as light as possible.

DH thinks she's bonkers. But I'm feeling guilty. IABU if I say no?

Get your DH to say no, I assume that your SIL is his sister. She sounds barking, I think it is barking to take duvets on a plane, a car yes, a plane no.

YANBU, sounds like going camping, why does she want you to bring 2 duvets?
Where are you going? Might be easier to buy once you get there, although if she were a good host she would supply bedding for her SIL and small child!

Sorry - they are not for me and DD to use when we are there! SIL wants them for her own household, specifically 2 of her sons!

Why not order them on Amazon to be delivered to SIL's house. Delivery is now free to lots of European destinations. I know this as I've just given my husband's bank card a right good battering

No Amazon delivery to this country (not Europe). She claims that John Lewis equivalent would cost her £100 over there. She might not be incorrect.

Don't they sell duvets where she lived, still wouldn't take them along with other stuff she's "ordered" from SIL.net

Don't be ridiculous! Of course YANBU - well, the only way you are being unreasonable is that you are even considering it.
If she really hasn't got them, then ask her to buy a couple and tell her you will give her the money when you get there although if she tries to accept any money, then obviously charge her for the chocolate, toiletries, etc.

OTOH, you SiL IBU.

What country doesn't sell duvets? Where does she live? On Mars?

They sell duvets, just the quality she wants is much more expensive than in the UK. I think it's also that she has a thing for M&S, John Lewis, etc.

Ask her to pay for you to check another bag in! Only £12 one way or something.

Tot up how much it would cost you in excess baggage charges - as you have no room left. Be sure to add on money for new bag, and taxi etc - as bags won't fit in your car .

She'll be able to find cheaper in her country, I am sure.
