to think there's a lot of patronizing snobbery here with regards the netmums site.

it's as posters on mumsnet are somehow superior to anyone who posts on netmums...

I mean, whats that all about?

OP posts:

I got deleted for disagreeing with the OP - it was the equivalent of an AIBU and she was.

ScarletLady02 · 09/10/2013 00:11

needaholidaynow that reminds me of a debate on Bounty where the phrase "pasty prams" was coined Grin

Grennie · 09/10/2013 00:11

Ah mistle, did you forget to coat your disagreement in sugar?

needaholidaynow I need to know who you are now Smile

Do you remember a debate that sent a lady into labour it was that funny?

Something about SAHM vs WOHM and the girl lived on a farm or something? She called Kenneth Branagh "Kennedith"

TheInquisitor · 09/10/2013 00:22

I'm an avid netmum's and mumsnet fan, and like both for different reasons. Just wanted to say *MrsDeVere" I remember you over on netmums and used to disagree with practically everything you ever posted. Ah, well Grin
Not so much over here though, you're either milder, or I'm letting it whoosh over my head more lol Grin

Brokensoul · 09/10/2013 00:29

Mumsnet rules!!!!!!!!!¡!@!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grennie · 09/10/2013 00:30

There is a thread over there about mumsnet at the moment were the OP said it is nasty here. Various posters have defended mumsnet. I liked this post.

"If you talk b@||@£K$ somebody, or maybe many bodies, will tell you on Mumsnet.

Netmums seems a bit wet and drippy by comparison. You can't swear and have to be nice over here and this whole site looks like a My Little Pony has eaten a mouldy rainbow and vomited on it. Give me the rough, Swarfega scented fishwives of Mumsnet any day."

I remember you Smile

Jacs was rather....erm....challenging shall we say? I remember when all the members changed their avatars to seagull pictures in tribute Grin

I was ScarletLady01...I'm so imaginative! I still had crazy hair then.

nokidshere · 09/10/2013 00:42

I am on lots of sites. I like my advice and opinions to be heard in as many places as possible Grin

JustinBsMum · 09/10/2013 00:48

I haven't seen a mention of netmums for weeks - you must be seeking out threads on the subject OP.

Before I joined MN I was very naive and didn't think unmoderated forums really existed!

Not on NM but am on fertility friends which has been incredibly supportive, but yes I have a tinker and hun over there.

Coming to MN was like going from Sandra Dee to Sandy in the last scene of Grease, I felt liberated and realised it's more up my street and I love a bit of effin and blindin .

I have to be careful not to be naughty on the other forum though, I've been told off twice there since joining here, you lot are a bad influence . Grin

MinesAPintOfTea · 09/10/2013 03:02

Sam MN is one if the more heavily moderated online spaces I use. Its just that the moderation is to keep trolls down not to control language used between adults.

I'm only on MN forum and having just checked out Sparklingbrook's link I now know why.
Dear God do people really like sites like that?

mewmeow · 09/10/2013 07:57

Well I prefer netmums! Its more fun than this one, and I can relate to the people better.
(nb am not slating mumsnet - I love this too) Grin

BelaLugosisShed · 09/10/2013 08:04

Their relationships section is full of "he's a man, what do you expect?" type "advice" , hugely derogatory, basically men are like an extra child so treat them like one. Their "counsellors" are a joke, I was banned for telling one he was rubbish.

ScrambledSmegs · 09/10/2013 08:07

I think a lot of the truly scathing posts about NM are from people who've been banned or had bad experiences there. Or most of the ones I've seen have been as they have admitted it.

One of my friends not close is on NM. I don't dare tell her I'm on MN as she is very vocal about hating us. She's never even looked at this site, she admits it! Apparently we're all a bunch of bullying bitches.

I'm a member of both but have never got involved on NM. It never grabbed me the way this place did.

Grennie · 09/10/2013 08:17

I think if you have right wing views, I don't, you can get a hard time on here. On netmums you won't.

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 09/10/2013 08:21

Grennie

Yes. Or if you are not very logical in your reasoning ability

MisselthwaiteManor · 09/10/2013 08:22

I find NM really patronising, not least because you can't say fucky bollock tits. The advice is generally less harsh honest and well thought out as it is on here. I posted on NM a few times asking for advice and I think it was a mod but received a reply which basically said "I hear you're saying... copied/pasted my OP... diddums etc" and then no other replies whatsoever Confused Here I can post under a name change and will still get lots of people trying to help. And people on MN are generally so much funnier.
