To be a bit confused about Mumsnet Classics?

A lot of threads have gone into Classics, but really that's because people get swept away with it. At the time. The thread may have been funny and those posting had a day or so of laughing, but why does it need to be in Classics?

Does anyone ever look in Classics? Apart from maybe to find the unfunny Pom Bear thread? Confused

OP posts:

Cutted up Pear was the one which always sits in my mind.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 17/09/2013 10:40

Cutted Up Pear is the only one that is really great IMO. The other ones like Yoni and pomme bears are "you had to be there" threads.

TimeAgainForWellies · 17/09/2013 10:45

Did MitchyInge's pink horse make classics?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 17/09/2013 11:12

OMG Parsing I am meant to be having a lie in today. Ive just wasted more than 2 hours on that link! Grin

HoneyDragon · 17/09/2013 16:19

zing there are a few threads started by me in classics (down to other mnetters for the funnies though) the one MNHQ checked on involved discussing sex toys with Ds Blush, I'll do a linky when I'm home and can search it properly.

LadyBeagleEyes · 18/09/2013 15:44

Were you the 'weasels thread' Honey?
I enjoyed that one, and have started asking people how big they are.
Everybody thinks they're the size of ferrets.

TimeAgainForWellies · 18/09/2013 16:14

aaah weasels. so cute.

slightly larger than a mouse

TimeAgainForWellies · 18/09/2013 16:14

[I was on that thread]

happy days

HoneyDragon · 18/09/2013 16:49

Yes, that was me. Weasels still keep on surprising me.

RandallPinkFloyd · 18/09/2013 17:19

Was 'I've shat on my skirt' the "if I move I'll poo" and "I'm so sorry Alan" thread? If it is that was one of the only threads that genuinely did make me cry with laughter. Proper, out loud belly laughs.

The 'least professional moments' thread is also one of my favourites.

I do agree though that for most of the funny ones you need to be there at the time.

BlatantRedhead · 18/09/2013 17:32

I occasionally look in classics when I don't fancy interacting with anyone and need a good laugh. The Zombie Plan thread was the funniest thing I've ever read on here.

HandMini · 18/09/2013 17:44

I thought the Yoni Master from Hull was pretty good, especially when everyone name changed. Was that made a classic? And please please, tell me what the "rivers of sweet corn" reference is.....

if you click on any of the links in this thread, there's a link to Mumsnet Classics at the top of the page

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 10/09/2022 23:51

I'd think some of them make little sense anymore since lots of posters had their posting history removed. Your minge! Was funny at the time but the op had her history deleted

I haven't looked through classics in years but I remember some amusing ones. Unfortunately I have a shite memory and can't remember which ones 😕

scissorsandsellotape · 10/09/2022 23:55

How hilarious that this is an old thread about classics
The folk at MnHq used to just wang em in there if anyone asked iirc

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 10/09/2022 23:57

Ffs how old is this thread! I'm probably on it somewhere saying the exact same thing as just now 🤣

Lalliella · 11/09/2022 00:16

Pleeeeease can someone link the Pom Bear thread? I keep hearing about it but can’t find it.

FilthyforFirth · 11/09/2022 00:25

I know this is an old thread but I legit read the Balonz thread once every couple of months. I cry with laugher!

daisy46 · 11/09/2022 02:31

I hadn't spotted Chip & Dale doll until this thread -- deserves Classics

Go to topics and then mumsnet stuff and it's in there

EbbyEbs · 11/09/2022 07:46

Did the Sistine chapel thread end up in classics? That was hilarious, it was even mentioned on the radio and the DJ couldn’t get through it for laughing, which made it even funnier. He just kept saying “It’s the screaming! Why would you do that??” in a high pitched “struggling” voice 😂 it was so funny
