The most boring drug in the world.

For the people not taking it?

Just been to a 'party' at a house. Big divide between the drug takers and the non drug takers. Drug takers up and down the stairs for a line. No conversation. The rest of us flailing in the non atmosphere.

Grrr. I work in a bar so I put up with this shit at work. Now it's every time I go out for a drink or to a house.

AIBU to think bore off you boring bastards?

Lol at tethers. Good one.

paulapantsdown · 04/08/2013 11:58

Well blokes who neck pint after pint are boring, girls who throw 15 bottles of WKD down their necks are boring, people who think wittering on about house prices at a dinner party are boring... but to themselves they are fascinating and they are having a great time! Each to their own and all that.

bootsycollins · 04/08/2013 12:00

Here's to excess and debauchery and getting fucking ruined Wine

i'll drink to that bootsy but with a 'once in a blue moon' proviso

swallowedAfly · 04/08/2013 12:11

thanks to this thread i have that 'robin hood' song playing in my head - 'well it's something your mother can't abide, but it's something that i'd really prescribe - take yourself for a ride, you never felt so good as the night that you and i played robin hood....'

i shall now have to find and play it.

Onesleeptillwembley · 04/08/2013 12:12

TBH it tends to be people with the 'knobber' gene that are fond of coke anyway.

swallowedAfly · 04/08/2013 12:12

what was the band called? i loved them for a while and now can't remember their name. they also did that one about dirty hotel rooms on the other side of the world....

ihavenonameonhere · 04/08/2013 12:13

Hate alcohol love coke. Much prefer to be at a party full of coke heads than ppl pissed everywhere or smoking weed.

Elsiequadrille · 04/08/2013 12:13

I really miss pills...............

swallowedAfly · 04/08/2013 12:37

it is a shame mdma is illegal and has come downs because frankly it would be a much nicer option than anti-depressants.

swallowedAfly · 04/08/2013 12:38

and imagine a playground full of gurning mums instead of secret prozac poppers?

HepsibarCrinkletoes · 04/08/2013 12:39

Yep, it can turn one into a total knob. But so can booze. I know which I'd rather have and it doesn't give me a hangover. Blocked nose maybe, but beats feeling like utter shit for days.

morethanpotatoprints · 04/08/2013 12:41

YABU if you don't invite us next time Grin

If they were up and down stairs all the time they really didn't know what they were doing, as it lasts for the full party if taken near the beginning. Why would anybody need a top up.

Disclaimer. Ill spent youth, I'm a responsible parent now Grin

SouthernComforts · 04/08/2013 12:42

Morning!

The point about not socialising with coke takers is a good one, but honestly it is a huge problem where I live.(very poor area on the edge of a city) people you would never expect to take coke, do. And it changes them, for the worst.

Plus I've lost friends to drugs, others killed by people on drugs, so it kind of loses its appeal after a few funerals. I'm 21 and my friends are dying from drug use, yet other friends happily sniff all weekend and honestly can't connect the dots.

I'm a smoker so that analogy wasn't a dig btw.

im more interested in whats making me have a good time, than whether randoms are judging me. tbh coke, mdma, alcohol, weed, whatever. if its a party, and I have no kids the next day, why not.

swallowedAfly · 04/08/2013 12:48

agree SC. i'm not even in or near a big city and it's clearly a huge thing now. i marvel at how anyone can afford it and then realise they can't after a discussion with an old friend reveals that he's in the process of eviction because he 'forgot' to pay his rent for god knows how long.

SouthernComforts · 04/08/2013 12:50

And I agree that alcohol can turn people into absolute bores - I'm a barmaid after all! But in a work capacity, drugs have caused far more problems for me than drink.
