I love my dog, I walk her on the beach and off her lead in the park. I let small children pet her. She eats food off leftover plates and I don't care because she is such a positive, enriching part of my life.

So much dog hate on AIBU recently. I just wanted to spread a bit of smelly, furry, drooly love.

Fucking top post OP! My dog does all of that AND sleeps on my bed. In it sometimes! And drinks out of the toilet if the fancy takes him! I bloody love my dog!

My toddler got surrounded by 5 german Shepard puppies at the park yesterday. I actually thought they were going to strip the skin off his face they licked him so much.he loved it!

He smelt awful after though.

I love my dog. She is superior to almost all humans.

Mine is an absolute bugger tonight. He fought to get into the kitchen before me to snaffle BBQ leftovers.

He's normally angelic (when supervised...).

My dogs a pain in the arse (well dh's dog). I'm not technically a dog person - still like her better than about 80% of the humans I know!

There is a man near me with two slobbering hounds of hell Dobermans. DD would marry them if she could. He is so kind and gentle and so are his dogs. They are bigger than she is.

I would like to thank all the lovely dog owners who let DD pet their dogs. I always tell her to ask the owner, then ask the dog. At 2.5 she is already offering the back of her hand to sniff and waiting to pet.

I love dogs! I have two, and would happily have another few if I had the room.

I love dogs even though our 12 week mini dachshund is going through a bitey phase and driving me to distraction.

We did take him out into.the village today for a first walk where he made friends with lots of people and one giant dog that very gently said hello and the top of his head smells so good!

So nice to read a positive doggy thread for once.

I think we should also mention PAT dogs, guide dogs, police dogs, guard dogs, sniffer dogs, sheep dogs, rescue dogs, gun dogs and all the other dogs in the world who actually do an important job for someone. Who never get a mention or get appreciated by the millions of doggy-bashers.
