crouched,,, 😋

doesn't bother me. isn't face book all about look at me and my beautiful children? that's what I post anyway.

BOF · 02/08/2013 04:25

I'm just amazed how many people have any idea what the reports mean. They all look like a load of computer-generated guff to me: x demonstrates an awareness of liquid volumes and can compare outcomes, blah blah blah. With maybe a "Well done x!" at the end from their form teacher. Whoopdi-doo.

thebody · 02/08/2013 04:54

BOF agree with that. no idea. level this going to level that! mystifying.

It may offend MNers but aunties and grannies seem to enjoy seeing their loved ones progress. I don't personally because its not my thing but I do sometimes say how lush they are. Haven't been arrested yet

theodorakisses · 02/08/2013 07:47

And since when was thinking your children are ace criminal? I thought most parents did brag a little bit, isn't it human nature to be proud? Why is it offensive? I really, truly don't get it.

Facebook was invented for keeping up with friends and family but it turned into boasting and faceless arguing which is why I am no longer on Facebook! Oh and btw all of my 3 kids are super clever and all their school reports were fantastic and my daughter aced her SATS! ;-P

mrsjay · 02/08/2013 08:26

sigh IT is peoples facebook they can post what they like and it isn't a crime to be happy that your children are doing well whether it be school report won a foot ball game or whatever > oh Scottish Exam results come out next week so I will be posting quite happily on my facebook about it, i dont give a shiny shite if it annoys anybody

theodorakisses · 02/08/2013 08:47

I am not really bothered about school stuff, I think there are much more important things in life than living through one's child's school life. Everyone goes to school, reports are rarely negative.

This thread has really inspired me to start a spreadsheet Smile

It's boastful but that's the point of Facebook.

A poster above said a teacher had posted about their child in a play or something. I'd be livid. I don't want my child's life on Facebook. I think in future a lot of people will have problems due to their Internet presence. Not good reports obviously but a bit of discretion wouldn't go amiss.
