To think all of this hand holding bollocks is going a bit too far now

It used to be that when something bloody awful happened to someone, they'd ask for a bit of hand holding, but its getting ridiculous now.

All it takes is for someone to post summat like "I've burnt tea" and the first sodding responder says "ooh you must be so worried, I'm holding your hand". This is then followed by a million other "I'm holding your hand too" posts.

How many fucking hands does one person have?

Seriously. Sheesh. Knock it off.

I haven't seen anything like that, babyheave. I've only seen the phrase used with regard to serious issues where it is an expression of support. Which is half the point of MN, isn't it?

Have you been to Nethuns?

LowLevelWhinging · 30/06/2013 17:52

that's not very nice OP.

are you feeling a lickle bit gwumpy?

fengirl1 · 30/06/2013 17:52

Do you want me to hold your hand? Grin

NinthWave · 30/06/2013 17:53

Its OK babyheave, let it all out.

OwlinaTree · 30/06/2013 17:53

I've only seen it on support threads, not aibu.

nenevomito · 30/06/2013 17:55

No, seriously. It used to be on only a few threads, but now every bugger is doing it and if you're talking about nethuns, over use of hand holding is only a few steps away from hunniung.

Its also unhygienic. Not everyone washes after going to the loo you know.

I open a thread that has the mildest of peril in it and oh look. Its a and a .

Sad I agree with cardibach.

poachedeggs · 30/06/2013 17:58

Don't want it getting too fluffy though, do we? One thing could lead to another and before you know it we'll be calling each other "hun".

It's ok baby I feel shit too.

nenevomito · 30/06/2013 17:59

For example (as I'm on a roll now) it used to be "My DH has been rushed to hospital in an ambulance. Need a hand to hold". yup, fine, no probs.

Now its "My DC has gone to the OOH clinic as he has a sniffle" and then you get "oooh you must be so worried"
3 posts later - "DC has had some calpol now and is asleep."

Cease and desist you sweaty pawed hand holding care bears!

Hugging should only be allowed when drunk.

RevoltingPeasant · 30/06/2013 18:03

Beshy mate, you are.

DeathByTray · 30/06/2013 18:04

Hugging should only be allowed when drunk.

It shouldn't just be allowed, it's a compulsory stage of being drunk.
