AIBU to think that whichever 1970s-throwback Paperchase employee commissioned THIS card should get the sack?

Tbh I think there are many cards out there worse than that

debduck · 05/06/2013 20:41

Yep you are. Supply:demand. Shoot the hilarious twonks that buy the card.

PrettyKitty1986 · 05/06/2013 20:42

I chuckled. But I'm weird.

AnyFucker · 05/06/2013 20:43

sad, very sad

TheCatIsUpTheDuff · 05/06/2013 20:44

Me too, PrettyKitty. I wouldn't give it to my Dad, but if it was a birthday card I could easily find a good home for it.

Yonionekanobe · 05/06/2013 20:44

Who on earth would buy that for their Dad? Or their DC's dad!?

Bizarre. Some of the father's and Mother's Day stuff brings out the worst stereotyping. There is a Moonpig ad at the moment with fathers doing 'Dad' things - taking bins out and the like Hmm

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 05/06/2013 20:44

gawd, yeah, diamonddee, so true. but one commissioned for children to get for their parent? ugh.

PattieOfurniture · 05/06/2013 20:45

Probably not very appropriate for a fathers day card. But I fail to see what is so horrid about a slim pretty lady with big boobs.

Jidget · 05/06/2013 20:47

Who would actually give that card to their Dad?

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 05/06/2013 20:48

My Dad would like that card. My Mum would possibly be less than impressed with me giving it to him!

TigOldBitties · 05/06/2013 20:55

Bet my brother buys that card for my dad.

I think from an adult its probably ok, but yes from a child it's in poor taste.

Buzzardbird · 05/06/2013 20:55

Well there won't be a paperchase employee that commisssioned this card. It will have come from a greetings card publisher and the buyer for paperchase will have bought the Father's Day line as a package. Therefore it is the publisher you need to direct your ire at.

BOF · 05/06/2013 20:56

It says "Service unavailable" for me Confused

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 05/06/2013 20:58

oh yes, that's right, the buyer... i was racking my brains to express that and came up with commissioned for some reason. but no, am happy to be angry with Paperchase, tbh. it's sexist shite, and they shouldn't be buying sexist shite.

MoonlightandRoses · 05/06/2013 21:00

It is more than a bit off, and agree we should focus on those who buy the things rather than 'create' them, but am I the only one who noticed the hideous blue eye-shadow before the cleavage/handbag?

debduck · 05/06/2013 21:05

nope, I saw the tits first.

squeakytoy · 05/06/2013 21:10

I am sure when it was Mothers day there were equally lewd cards for adult women to buy for their mothers.

Nobody is forced to buy them.

Buzzardbird · 05/06/2013 21:13

If you had met said buyer it would all make sense trust me. Was sooo rude to me!

PeggyGuggenheim · 05/06/2013 21:13

Awful, unspeakable and I'm boggled that people are defending it. Can we tweet Paperchase with #NotBuyingIt ?

scarletsalt · 05/06/2013 21:20

Unspeakable? A little dramatic doncha think?

BlackholesAndRevelations · 05/06/2013 21:21

Bit of an over reaction, no? It's not that bad for, say, an adult to buy their single dad? It's blatantly not designed for children to get for their dads!
