According to my Mum NOBODY in their right mind would allow their child to wear THIS

I would. I like it and I know DD would! I asked my Mum to make it and she actually laughed out loud! Shock

She said "Who on earth would let their child walk about in THAT!?"

Well actually me! I would! I know it's a bit "dressing up box" but why can't a 5 year old have some fun with her wardrobe? Mum takes ages to knit things as she puts them down a lot....so it would be done for Autumn I expect. She has point blank refused....I told her I'd have to ask MIL then as MIL would knit me a wedding dress if I asked her to though she's not as good as Mum...she will do it whatever she thinks of it.

Anyway...Mum trusts you lot...if I tell her you all say it's ok, then she might do it. Grin So...be honest...DD would like it and she can skip to the shops/park in it with jeans and boots on.

Yes? Or no?

Oh and I love it op. (prays for a girl next)

CloudsAndTrees · 29/05/2013 21:50

I'd let my dd wear it, and I'd be up for one myself! Not in red though, I'd choose another colour unless its only going to be worn for dressing up.

LollipopViolet · 29/05/2013 21:50

YANBU at all, I want one myself! Grin

Growlithe · 29/05/2013 21:51

You would never have to give World Book Day a second thought again. Grin

Your mum just doesn't like the idea of being eaten by the big bad wolf. Shock

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 29/05/2013 21:51

Oh I am SO glad you all agree! IN your face Mum!

I like it. I've seen something less cute on ebay for adults, like a pixie-coat. The picture you've posted looked really sweet. If your DD would like it, she should have one!

MacaYoniAndCheese · 29/05/2013 21:52

Squeeeee! I adore it and capes/ponchos are very hip, very chic, very now . Besides...the window for pulling off a red-riding hood cape is very limited indeed; if you can't do it at five, when can you?

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 29/05/2013 21:52

Now....we will all know fellow MNrs by the capes our DDs will Sport this Autumn!

A friend of mine makes capes. They are so pretty.

whattodoo · 29/05/2013 21:56

Oh wow! I'm off to buy wool and needles (and a 'how to knit' book). This is fantastic!

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 29/05/2013 21:57

Whattodo I feel the same! If anything's worth learning to knit for it's this!

trixymalixy · 29/05/2013 21:58

I want one!!

elfycat · 29/05/2013 21:59

That looks fab. DD1 would look amazing in it (and I can knit).

Grandma should knit it but PLEASE pay her by gifting her a wolf toy!

TheEndTisHere · 29/05/2013 21:59

I made a red ridding hood cape for Halloween for DD2 she still runs around, she looks so sweet I it and I'll make another when she grows out of it.

If your DM won't make one then sew one much quicker and very simple to make.

Helpyourself · 29/05/2013 21:59

Oh! It's gorgeous.

eyes up strapping teenage dds and weeps a little

Primafacie · 29/05/2013 22:00

Definitely do it, it's lovely! My DD will take one too, please. Where do I send the cheque?
