When asked in the future 'Where were you when you heard Margaret Thatcher had died' she will have to say 'defending Mumsnet on Radio 2 due to some furore regarding Amanda Holden and a year old thread'.

Sad

For a published journalist and social commentator CO was seriously crap, wasn't she.
And I'm not just saying that because I disagreed with her, I just thought she'd have come a lot better prepared.
She brought nothing to the discussion.

Surely radio iplayer is available anywhere? Last time I looked it was only if you went onto a tv page that the 'content not available in your area' came up? (Wd check but would get distracted and it would be fatal...)

Zombie thinks desertgirl may be right. This is from the BBC iPlayer Help section.

What a narrow minded and generalised view from Christine. All women on mn label themselves as 'mother'. There are two types of women on mn, both of them are angry.
Hmm, I have no dcs and am not angry, nor have I ever posted an angry or hostile comment on here.
Granted there are some angry posts, but mn never ceases to amuse me, touch my heart and reassure me that there are some truly wonderful people out there. It's a real strength that mn supports healthy debate and a shame Christine chooses to label so many women in this negative way. Well done Justine for rising above it!

It was her timing, straight after being told how many MILLION MNErs there are, she said yes, but there are two types.

That's just patently not true is it Christine.... Hmm

Amanda Holden will be a guest on the Graham Norton show on BBC1 tomorrow. I wonder if she'll be asked about this.

Bet Graham Norton is a Mumsnetter. Grin
