When asked in the future 'Where were you when you heard Margaret Thatcher had died' she will have to say 'defending Mumsnet on Radio 2 due to some furore regarding Amanda Holden and a year old thread'.

Sad

Wine to Justine. How calm & eloquent she was. So much the better speaker.

I reckon she is Jizz. She gets a pasting on here regularly.

Although, saying that Farewell writes far too eloquently to be LJ!

"I reckon she is Jizz".

Interesting autocorrect?

Is it just me, or can anybody else hear almost snigger-like noises on occasion as Odone talks about the 'angry women' malarkey?

DP and I are listening to this over and over, peeing ourselves laughing!

I'm very impressed by Justine, I've seen clips of her before but not very long ones. She's great at handling people.

Don't think anyone's posted this from the Telegraph today:

I'm a total nobody! Obscure journalist who happens to write occasional not v controversial article. Really you'd be all 'you what?' if I outed myself. Which goes to prove how democratic a mn slagging off is...
Am now off to heal myself of pain of those viperish angry bitches on mn calling me Liz Jones.

Am listening to the iPlayer now. My particular favourite is Christina Odone's angry noises in the background.

Justine is very impressive isn't she. She always comes across as very articulate indeed bet she stands for parliament one day

That Amanda Holden thread - from what I can remember there were plently of people saying what she did (go back to work with a tiny baby) was fine, nature of the industry she is in demands it and also I am sure she would have had cuddles with her baby in between breaks. She wasn't doing 12 hour shifts in a factory etc. Just as many people were defending her as attacking her, so I don't understand all this hand wrigning a year later.

southeastdweller. thanks for that link.

What a load of absolute rubbish, don't think I've read anything so funny for a while.

My particular favourite is her singling out North London Starbucks, didn't realise there was so much snobbery before! It's just bizarre.

Arf at 'Nicola' being summed up as 'the woman who went on Mumsnet to ask for a Gloclock, and got told off for her lack of manners.'

Just listened to it, I think Justine was very calm and that other women sounds very angry over nothing.

I think she got her knickers in a twist because she didn't get the reaction she wanted.

I am impressed with the posters that knited all those blankets, for those who have a massive well done. Also to the posters who have supported women through misscarriages and losing a child great job.

What i would love to see is a positive story in the news about this site.

BTW i am not angry about my life choices :)

Hang on...I didn't hear the show, but did I just read that right? The other woman didn't' think it was ok for women to disagree with one another? Why? Are we all supposed to be all harmonious and sprinkling patchouli or something? (Sorry, don't have time right now to actually listen, was just checking I'd got it right that apparently it's bad for women to disagree with other women - or is it other people in general?)
