I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

House of fraser put me in the know too quite a few years ago now about the whole add 4 or 5 inches myth...this reminds me i need to re measure after 3 goes up and down the breastfeeding tree.. that's not going to make happy reading :-(

permaquandry · 27/02/2013 17:49

Hello, can I be fitted please?

28 round back and 33 at widest part. Thx!

diddl · 27/02/2013 17:55

So, the cup measurements-approx what difference in the two measurements equals what cup size?

EllieFredrickson · 27/02/2013 17:56

Thanks for all the help - will report back!

SorrelForbes · 27/02/2013 18:00

permaquandry Try a 28DD.

WildThong · 27/02/2013 18:01

Great thread, well done

FrankWippery · 27/02/2013 18:02

Celtic thank you. I shall go bra shopping in the morning as soon as I've dropped DD3 off at nursery school.

What an excellent thread.

LadyIsabellaWrotham · 27/02/2013 18:05

I was intervened by a lovely young woman in John Lewis Oxford Street who did exactly what the S&B mob would have done and took me from a 34A (M&S - who once managed to flog me a 34AA Sad) to a 32B. I am actually light of nork and broad of shoulder so I didn't have as much to gain as some people, but even that much change makes a noticeable difference to how I look in clothes.

As it happens I was buying bras in John Lewis yesterday and saw a load of 30C/D/E/F cup bras in stock in their own brand and Triumph, I thought "Ooh, the bra interventionists would be happy".

permaquandry · 27/02/2013 18:08

I can't do a 28 or a 30 (far too tight, I get migraines and this seems to compound it).

I currently wear a 32D. I can't do a C because the cups aren't wide enough.

Funnily enough, fitter in m&s told me I was a 32b yesterday! I laughed and said I'm a 32d, she didn't believe me but got some anyway and was shocked to see them fitting perfectly!

BelaLugosisShed · 27/02/2013 18:12

Ok, I'm 39 underneath and 43/44 around my dangling boobs, I've tried sizes from 38b to 40a/b/c but nothing ever fits, my boobs are tiny and very widely spaced, I have very broad shoulders too. I wear camisoles with the built in shelf because bras are so uncomfy. Sad

CelticPromise · 27/02/2013 18:17

MoreGin I reckon you'd find the smaller size more supportive. The elastic should still allow you to breathe! So start with a 30E.

CelticPromise · 27/02/2013 18:19

Bela sounds like you need a bigger cup size. Have you tried a 38DD? Or even a 36F if you are squishy of torso?

CelticPromise · 27/02/2013 18:19

36E or F.

MoreGin · 27/02/2013 18:21

Thank you! Blimey, an E cup for my littl'uns... I wear 34B at the moment. I can't wait to try it out.

EllenJaneisstillnotmyname · 27/02/2013 18:28

Ok, I was in a 36D, but have lost weight. M & S measured me as a 38A.

I'm 33" below and 37" above.

MN fitted me into a 32DD. My boobs fitted into it beautifully, but I'm quite flabby and it gave me all sorts of extra lumps all around the strap, despite lots of scooping. I think I'll have to go up to a 34, but what cup size? 34D?

WheelieBinRebel · 27/02/2013 18:28

I never knew any of this, just used to take M&S's word as gospel. They measured me as 36B which has never been comfy.

Just measured myself at 34 under and 40 over, what does that make me??

babypowder · 27/02/2013 18:32

How have I missed this? Please can you help me? I'm 32 inches under my bust and 39 around the dangliest bit. Blush

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/02/2013 18:33

32G babypowder. I think that's right.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/02/2013 18:34

Wheeliebin, 34F.

Hark at me.

BillComptonstrousers · 27/02/2013 18:34

Please can someone do me Grin always go to debenhams or M&S and they always feel shit in a 34B. I've been back numerous times, but they always get the same.
I'm 31 ribcage and 37 fullest part. There always seems to be a lot of 'cup' left at the top of my bra.

babypowder · 27/02/2013 18:35

Really??! Wow - I've been in a 36D for ages. Can't wait to try it - thank you!

CelticPromise · 27/02/2013 18:35

34E Wheelie.

shrimponastick · 27/02/2013 18:35

I wore a 36B for many years - because my mum did, and she suggested that i was that size. (as did M&S bra fitters).

I lost weight so went to a 34b/c. Fine for a while.

Re measured a few months ago -- and have decided that I am really a 32E.. It all looks much perkier - and husband is impressed with the cup size ;)

In fact I orderd a new bikini for summer- and it actually fits - rather than boobs falling out of the sides, and wobbling about. Perfect.

CelticPromise · 27/02/2013 18:36

30F Bill.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/02/2013 18:36

Oh no! I was wrong! Listen to CelticPromise.

I'm sorry, I was just treating it as a quiz Blush
