I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

lookout, try about 34FF

JKSLtd · 28/02/2013 21:54

Haven't read the whole thread, but I was on an earlier bra thread.

I was wearing 34A mostly, though had a variety after 3 pgs. My comfiest were Sloggi 32Bs.

After self-measuring I got some 28Ds from Figleaves that were better but are a bit tight.

I went to R&P the other day and Irina says I'm a 30C. The one I bought is very comfy :)

I intend to have a massive clearout of my lingerie shop-worth pile upstairs at some point.

Thanks to the MN-bra-massive Grin

lookout · 28/02/2013 21:54

HazleNutt thanks. As bf, do I still need to avoid underwires would you know?

AnyFucker · 28/02/2013 21:56

I bought an oft-recommended Cleo Juna from Large Cup Lingerie for 16.50

I don't consider that too much to pay for comfort

My tits don't look bigger...they simply look more proportioned and in the position they ought to be on my chest

No there are underwired nursing bras available as well - as long as the bra fits properly, you don't have to avoid underwires.

delilahlilah · 28/02/2013 22:00

Inspired by this thread, I googled Leia... anyone else noticed the second listing in the Google search?! 'Lift and Escalator Industry Association' almost the same thing really!!

I wonder if there has been a spike in bra sales thanks to the MN threads?!

Too Blush to post my measurements, but may get brave when my new ones come if there is a positive change!! Wink

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 22:00

Fascinating, what size do you reckon you need and I will have a look. There are some bargains around at the moment if you know where :)

SoSweetAndSoCold · 28/02/2013 22:01

Thanks Celtic, off shopping tomorrow!

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 22:01

Don't be embarrassed delilahlilah. If this thread shows much its that we are all shapes and sizes

Tolly81 · 28/02/2013 22:02

I am in dire need after pg and finishing BFing and now left with tiny empty sack boobs. My measurements are 30-31 under bust and 35/36 doing the bendy over loose hangy down thing (which it seems is the natural environment for my boobs these days Sad). What does that make? And who are these people (sorry I should read through but this is now 13 pages long)? Can someone tell me what size I should be, thanks.

Tolly81, start at a 30DD and 30E, and read through the info I put up earlier this evening about a good bra - search the thread for "Testing the band and cup"

InMySpareTime · 28/02/2013 22:03

Fascinating, I am a lot more comfortable in my 28H than I was in any of the more "normal" sizes, I figure I'd rather have 2 well fitting bras than a drawer full of badly fitting cheapies.
I would spend £35 on the DCs school shoes, to make sure they fit properly and support their feet properly, why would I begrudge similar money to make sure my breasts are properly supported in a well-fitted bra?

ScrambledSmegs · 28/02/2013 22:03

Fascinating, I just bought a 30G nursing bra for less than £12 from My Curves & Me. Admittedly it was on sale and with a discount applied but there are plenty of great bras out there at decent prices if you look.

Brastop has been mentioned on here, it's good value. Also, Figleaves has good sales and offers on a lot.

I would rather have a few bras that fit, flatter and make me feel great, than loads that don't fit right. The difference is really obvious when you've experienced a good bra.

I thought I was a 34C.

A couple of years back Bravissimo measured me as 32D.

Weight hasn't changed, Sorrel's method has me as a 30E. Much, much happier and perkier!

Dire selection of bras in 28-30 backs though,
.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 22:07

I think one thing this thread shows is that actually, there really aren't very many women at all who genuinely fall within the narrow range of sizes that many shops class as normal. About 90% of the women who post are DD+, and a hell of a lot are G+. So many places only sell 34-38A-D or thereabouts. In reality, that range probably only covers a small percentage of the population. It's improving, slowly bit surely. When I first realised I was a 30G (a while back...bigger now) the only place I could buy a bra in my city was John Lewis, and it was at least £30 each often more. So to have got to the stage when I am finding bras for around £10 is a huge improvement. But it still has a way to go in terms of availability.

lookout · 28/02/2013 22:07

Thanks. Does anyone know if I order a couple different sizes from some of the above mentioned website if they accept returns of the sizes that don't fit? Don't have the time/energy to get around the shops trying them on and there is a much better and cheaper choice online!

flumperoo · 28/02/2013 22:08

Can someone do me please? I measure 28" and 33".

AnyFucker · 28/02/2013 22:09

FNT, I have to admit to being a tad evangelical at the moment about my new found bra knowledge and how much better I look

the thing is however, I could buy stuff from Asda as a size 32d

but they are crap

it's a quality issue for me...and the "larger cup" styles (starting from a D...although I don't consider I have large boobs) have the extra details that improve the comfort, fit and the way they make you look

wide set straps, 3 sets of hooks, clever panelled stitching on the cups to support you properly blah blah blah

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 22:09

IWillOrder start with a 32E and sizes close.

determinedma · 28/02/2013 22:09

Can't afford anything other than cheap bras, mores the pity and no way could spend more than a tenner on a bra. Don't get the measuring while hanging down thing...if they are hanging free, when you measure them do you rope them in so they lie against the skin, or so you measure them hanging down?
I wear a 38 c or d but neither fit properly.

AnyFucker · 28/02/2013 22:10

flump, 28DD
