To ask how many of you have had a bra intervention by Sorrel, Statistically and others?

I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

Lueji are you near a bravissimo?

TeWiSavesTheDay · 27/02/2013 17:03

Sorry, you didn't seem convinced!

I would guess the 30d seems narrow because it needs a bigger cup?

It took a good while and a load of bras in debenhams for me to work out what really fitted vs what I used to think fitted. I think sorrel suggested I try a 28DD originally, but the E was the best.

Lueji · 27/02/2013 17:03

Only a couple of thousand of miles. :)
Next time I am in London.

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/02/2013 17:04

iammyhair, 30D to start

Lueji I could be wrong but I think we did chat about your size before, I think it is just body shapes. Somebody apple shaped wearing a 14 will probably wear a very different bra size to an hour glass 14 - and probably a good 2 back sizes different.

Buddhastic · 27/02/2013 17:11

36C to 34D. Sorrel helped me. Grin

Lueji · 27/02/2013 17:12

Yes, Statiscally, I was replying to further suggestions.
I really don't think I can fit a smaller back size. But, I am a scientist, so I am willing to test it. Grin

cantreachmytoes · 27/02/2013 17:13

Ooh! Me too! Need help!
I'm pregnant (4 months with number 2) and measurements are ribs 33 and widest 42 inches. Also had a breast reduction 4 years ago..if that's important.

EllieFredrickson · 27/02/2013 17:13

OK so I've spent years in M&S fitted 38Cs wondering why they don't feel great. Think I might have just discovered why!!

Anyone able to help? 33 under the bust and 39 around.

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/02/2013 17:17

Sorry Lueji that wasn't a moan, more of a " I think we have, haven't we??" cos I am losing track now! ;)

Cantreachmytoes - 32GG/32g/34ff. The breast reduction however might make a difference. My best friend has had one (including an uplift) and it skews her measurements as her breast tissue is firmer/more concentrated so the measurement around her widest part suggests a bigger breast volume than she actually has. Might not be the same for you though.

Ellie...try a 32FF to start with and work from there.

Msbluesky32 · 27/02/2013 17:21

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and hate m and s for their annoying measuring but would love to know how this works.

Pre pregnancy I was a 34B now I'm sort of ...I really don't know. I bought a medium bravado bra, which is comfy but it would be nice to know roughly what size I am.

I measured my back under bust and it 31.5 and the other measurement is 37. I've been told I'm a 36C but I can't find anything that fits (hence the bravado bra). Realising that my chest is likely to change quite a bit yet I'm still very curious.

StuntNun · 27/02/2013 17:21

I was wearing a 36F fitted by John Lewis one week ago today. I am now wearing a 32H fitted by a lingerie shop in Belfast (no Bravissimo here). What a waste of money going to John Lewis.

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/02/2013 17:24

MsBlueSky...you probably weren't a 34. At your current measurements, I would say either a 30F/30E/32DD. It will take a wee bit of trial and error

Msbluesky32 · 27/02/2013 17:32

Ooo - I think I was measured ages ago by m and s and just assumed it was ok as they seemed alright.. But since I've been wearing maternity bras I realised my bras were pinching part of my breast under my arm.

Thanks for the advice - I will check out those sizes (very pleased to be trying on f e and double dd sized bras!) Smile

HoobleDooble · 27/02/2013 17:32

I'm away upstairs to do this while DS is distracted with his Peppa Pig spaghetti on toast!

mmmerangue · 27/02/2013 17:34

PS, with the bending over, how tight do you pull the measure? because I'm only 25 but BFing gave me some right danglies. TMI?

TheLakelandCatalogueIsMyPorn · 27/02/2013 17:38

You deserve an OBdoubleE for services to womenkind!

Would you please be kind enough to let me know my correct sizing. 37" & 45"

Thanks x

EllieFredrickson · 27/02/2013 17:38

Statistically thanks so much! Feels like a whole new way of thinking. Never though I might be as big as an FF - but that's what 20 years of wearing pretty much the same size does I guess!

Been struggling to help DD (who's a mature 12) with bras - we've tried all sorts and M&S were even more useless helping her. They measure but then won't help with the fit - presumably because she's a child. Does this work for those who are still growing too - any other considerations? Just tried to measure her and she's a 28 under and 32 round. Currently wearing a 36B which has a huge gap in the middle at the front so its right away from her body. Combination of my rubbish fitting and her near teenage stubbornness!?

CelticPromise · 27/02/2013 17:39

Statistically I just popped in to catch up on this thread, and I'm picturing you at the door of the MN changing room, weighed down with bras of all shapes and sizes, with a crowd of women shouting 'do me next!' Grin You're doing good work today!

BramblyHedge · 27/02/2013 17:40

I am a few years converted via House of Fraser. Previously M and S had me in a 40c. I am 32 g. Dress size 12-14 if that helps.

EMUZ · 27/02/2013 17:40

EllieF - she would need probably a 28D/DD

CelticPromise · 27/02/2013 17:40

Lakeland 36G to start I think.

TheLakelandCatalogueIsMyPorn · 27/02/2013 17:43

Thank you Celtic. Much appreciated.

FrankWippery · 27/02/2013 17:44

StatisticallyC I'm 34" around the back and 44" with my norks. What do you reckon?

CelticPromise · 27/02/2013 17:47

Frank 34GG to start I reckon.

MoreGin · 27/02/2013 17:48

Hello helpful ladies. I have a question: when measuring under the bust, should I breathe in or out? It makes 2 inches difference!

I'm 30 when breathing out, 32 when breathing in, and 36 around the boobs.
