I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

Bigger - the only double which is smaller than its single is AA, otherwise the double is bigger

Crawling · 28/02/2013 15:56

Thank you.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 28/02/2013 15:59

So bra interventionists - have you tackled people in RL? I am wondering about saying something to my mum... I'm sure she must be wearing the wrong size because my sister (who I have interventioned, she says thanks!) and I were never measured correctly, and I guess mum would've noticed if she knew the correct way...

Our relationship is a bit tense so I'm not sure if "Oi, mum, your wearing the wrong bra!" might cause issues!

qumquat · 28/02/2013 15:59

I can't believe M and S are still fitting people so wrongly, why don't they ever learn? I was fitted at M and S as a teenager as 36B, I could tell it didn't fit in the dressing room but was too intimidated to say anything to the scary bra ladies, so I took a punt and found I could get away with 36D. I wore that for years and was droopy and lumpy, until I got measured at John Lewis and found I was a 30GG (or similar, can't remember exactly, but that's what I am now).

I used to travel into London John Lewis to buy my bras as Cambridge branch didn't stock them. Bravissimo has since changed my life!

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 16:00

I have tackled friends, family, friend of friend I met in pub.....

corkythecat · 28/02/2013 16:06

Thanks Sorrel will get ordering Smile

justanothertenminutes · 28/02/2013 16:08

32C/D? Shock I'm wearing a 34B and barely fill the cup, is that because of the cup getting bigger with the band then?

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 16:10

a 32c is the same cup as a 34b - cut will be less likely to gape as the tighter back will stop it falling forward

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 16:22

Mockingcurl OK, looking at that bra, is it the type of style that would gape on me too. I find that balconettes that are cut in more of a straight line across suit me better.

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 16:23

I have tackled many, many people, including a mother and teenage daughter in M&S last week Blush.

My DM is next on my list. I'm planning to take her to R&P for her birthday in May.

poorbuthappy · 28/02/2013 16:27

I think we need to get someone important on here from Marks for a webchat.
There would be bloodshed I'm sure!

Mockingcurl · 28/02/2013 16:28

Thanks Sorrell. So, stick to the same size but try another style?

Mockingcurl · 28/02/2013 16:29

Thanks Sorrell. So, stick to the same size but try another style?

WeAreSix · 28/02/2013 16:33

Me too! I have these wonderful women to thank for my 30F delights :)

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 16:34

Ok, may well be donating some bras that I just don't fit into anymore! Will have a sort out later and post sizes/makes.

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 16:36

Mockingcurl yes, try something that has a lower cup like this

Trazzletoes · 28/02/2013 16:36

I reckon we should bra-bomb M&S - all go in to certain stores at the same time on the same day for measuring (in our properly fitting bras) and when they say, well you add on 4 or whatever just do that annoying toddler thing... But why? Because that's what happens... But why? Because I said so... But why?...

RedToothBrush · 28/02/2013 16:42

Soozie Jenkinson is head of lingerie design at M&S
Paschal Little is head of lingerie innovation at M&S

It would be really funny to get either to do a MN Webchat

I've just read how they've just launched a new type of bra this month called the
daily mail alert - called the 'Youth Lift' Bra which claims to make saggy breasts look pert.

Doesn't it look like they are actually trying to cash in on bad bras and fitting!?!

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 16:47

Did you notice the size range on that bra RedToothBrush?

RedToothBrush · 28/02/2013 16:50

Haha no i hadn't, but yes it is funny as hell! DD is biggest they do!

QuickLookBusy · 28/02/2013 16:51

Joins the queueSmile

What a fantastic thread!

I measure 28.5 and 36.

This is with a bra on, is that the correct way to do it?

ceeveebee · 28/02/2013 16:53

Next are even worse. I was in there yesterday and all the bras on display start at 34. Now even if using the plus 4 method, 32 isn't that small surely!!

poorbuthappy · 28/02/2013 16:55

RedToothBrush have you just made those names up? Grin Grin Grin Wink

RedToothBrush · 28/02/2013 16:55

we - could in theory - pester M & S on twitter... they have an account. If you could get a hashtag that summed up everything then you might be able to get it trending or get it noticed. That could be embarasing enough for them to actually take notice.

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 16:55
