I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

I don't 'tweet' but could someone send the link to this (or other threads)?

RedToothBrush · 28/02/2013 16:56

LL12 · 28/02/2013 16:59

I measured 34 under and 41 when leaning over

Can you help pls?

Thank you very much Sorrel.

I've never worn a 28 in my life, I've got a 34dd at the momentShock

Trazzletoes · 28/02/2013 17:03

Quick I think you're meant to measure with your bra off...

QuickLookBusy · 28/02/2013 17:03

Should add that it isn't very comfortable!

RedundantExpat · 28/02/2013 17:04

I want to take my MIL to a proper shop. Love her to bits and I am sure she would benefit from a proper measuring. She wears what I call an armour and it makes it look ilke most of her boob is under her arm and on her back.

MN Towers, let's invite those M&S ladies for a webchat. I second the motion.

QuickLookBusy · 28/02/2013 17:04

Oh right Trazzle, I'll re measure without bra.

QuickLookBusy · 28/02/2013 17:07

Its too cold for bra removal at the moment so will remeasure tonight.

LL12 · 28/02/2013 17:08

Thankyou STATISCALLY, I will try some this weekend.

BuffyFairyTopsTheTree · 28/02/2013 17:13

Wow, this thread is a revelation Smile Please can you help me?

M&S put me as a 34B many years ago. That didn't feel right so I started wearing at 32C and mostly kept to that bar pregnancy / early breastfeeding days.

I got fitted by mothercare in pregnancy and my boobs looked awful. JL did a better job for nursing bras but now my boobs have shrunk and nothing fits. Feeding in my old 32Cs as they're loose enough to pull down!

Measurements are 29 under 35 across. I don't seem to have much boobage left in the top part iyswim.

TIA

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 17:15

BuffyFairyTops, as you are in between back sizes I would suggest trying a Balcony Style (something like the Bravissimo Alana to give you an idea of shape) in a 28E, 28F, 30E, 30DD to judge which works best - most people prefer the lower back size so the 28F is more likely

BuffyFairyTopsTheTree · 28/02/2013 17:16

Also, do I need a proper nursing bra? Dd is now 17m.

BuffyFairyTopsTheTree · 28/02/2013 17:18

Thanks statistically

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 17:18

Entirely up to you - you don't need to be wireless though, that one's a myth. As long as it fits well it is perfectly safe to wear an underwire whilst feeding. I'd guess at 17 months she probably isn't feeding that often now?

BuffyFairyTopsTheTree · 28/02/2013 17:21

You'd think! She goes through phases Grin

Thanks for the tip about wires.

Trazzletoes · 28/02/2013 17:32

Yay! Buffy! We're going to look ace! And how big are your boobs?! Shock Grin

slatternlymother · 28/02/2013 17:52

So I measure under my boobies, then lean forward 90 degrees and measure them as they dangle?! Is that right?

I was measured as a 36c by M&S at 16. Am now 25. And I've had a baby Blush

I think I need an intervention Blush

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 17:52

32FF for starters bruised, maybe try a G too. You could try a 34F but most women in between sizes get better support from the smaller size.

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 17:53

Yes slatternly, give us the magic numbers!

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 17:54

Bruised, try a 32FF to start, and a 34F/E

I'd guess you are more like the 32ff - it would have been too tight this morning due to inadequate cup space.
