I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

plusonemore try a 36HH. How does the band feel on your current 36GGs? You may want to consider trying a 34J.

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 14:01

Mockingcurl Which bra did you order? Are your boobs filling the bottom of the cups?

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 14:03

plusone I make you a 36HH.

never some brands come up particularly small or big. Eg Freya are often big in the band, so you might try a 28 but if you go down in the band don't forget to go up in the cup or vice versa. Or stick with a 30 but try EE or DD in different styles.

You can check the fit of the band by putting it on back to front and ignoring the cups to start with.

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 14:05

Ashokan M&S are ok if you avoid the fitters! For bigger cup sizes I don't find them sturdy enough, but some are fine.

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 14:07

CelticPromise I visited my local M&S last week. It's one of the biggest in the UK and they didn't have one bra over a DD. Madness...

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 14:07

Never I like brastop.com but I don't know what their range is like in your size. Just been looking at My Curves and Me (damn these threads!) and they have a good range and a good welcome offer of 20% off and free delivery.

SausageInnaBun · 28/02/2013 14:08

Ok, I know it was a few pages back but thanks Sorrell I will try a 28F and a FF as a 32F only gapes a bit, I already scoop and lean forward when I put my bras on (though don't really need to as all my boob tissue is on the front anyway).

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 14:09

Sorrel insane! My local one is quite small but has a good range of sizes (usually). I have tried a few of their G and GGs. and I find them too flimsy really, the straps are all too thin.

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 14:10

Sports bra hunters My Curves and Me has the Panache sports bra in red white and blue for £21, with the 20% off that is an absolute bargain.

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 14:12

I don't know what's happened tbh. I bought a t-shirt bra from them last summer in a 32G. Yes, it turned out to be a crap fit and shit quality but at least there were bras in there that I could try on. Maybe they were re-stocking last week...

I also have a M&S voucher with 4 on-line codes for 20% off from today. If anyone wants a code, pm me.

prozacpopsie · 28/02/2013 14:13

Sorry if people have already said this, but M&S bras are HOPELESS. And their fitting service is run by numpties. Bravissimo saved my life, and made me comfortable for the first time in my life! (And, no, I don't work for them!)

Mockingcurl · 28/02/2013 14:16

It's a Charnos balcony bra. My boobs do fill the bottom of the cup.

Trazzletoes · 28/02/2013 14:19

Just got an email from Figleaves for 10% off and free delivery - not sure whether its just the stuff that's "new in"... Anyway code is JUST4YOU

AshokanFarewell · 28/02/2013 14:20

Thanks everyone. I shall see what M&S has on offer, at least now I know what size I'm looking for hopefully I can find something a bit more comfortable until I can go further afield :)

Mockingcurl Hmmm, not a brand I'm familiar with as they don't tend to have my size! However, I've googles the images and their balconettes vary a lot in shape. Some are quite high cut across the boob and other are much more like a half cup shape. What is your bra like? Can you post the name?

Jemimapuddleduk · 28/02/2013 14:25

Thanks statisticallychallenged and celticpromise for my measurements, that saves me dragging my big pregnant body off the couch and to bravissimo. You are stars!

perceptionreality · 28/02/2013 14:26

I spent years wearing a 34d, until I discovered I'm actually a 30G

HazleNutt · 28/02/2013 14:26

If you get pot bubbling over effect, also known as four-boob effect, I would not recommend forcing the breast vack into the cup. You just need a bigger cup size.

HazleNutt · 28/02/2013 14:26

back, not vack obviously.

Beksybob · 28/02/2013 14:27

I just had a bit of a disaterous time in the bra shop. It's an independant one. I was the only person in there. I told the lady I just wanted something comfortable, that I didn't really know my size, and she told me to look around for something I like. So I kind of wandered around staring at bras, but I had no idea what to pick, I don't normally wear them because I find them unbearably uncomfortable! And I don't really give a crap what they look like because it would be under my clothes! In the end I had to mutter excuses and leave. It was a bit embarassing.

I come up as a 32C by MN measurements, but when I try them on they're so tight my back skin is squeezed out either side of the band and the cups are too big. I don't think I need a bra, I mean, my boobs sit where they're supposed to on their own. I might just continue on without.

Totally different point: In Australia bras are done by dress size, i.e. 10B, 12C etc. How does anyone ever get one to fit there?!

corkythecat · 28/02/2013 14:33

Hi I'm 30.5 under and 34 round the widest point leaning forward.
Have only been properly measured once while I was 8 months pregnant, so dont think that counts now Smile

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 14:34

corkythecat Try a 30D (and possibly a 30C and a 30DD).

TomDudgeon · 28/02/2013 14:46

Me please
35 40

I have been measured recently and m&s said something I can't remember what bit it wasntcomfortable so I have been wearing a couple of 36 cs that feel comfier
I do have go balls in socks though so when I lean forward that measurement seems odd as there's not much flesh or fat between the ends and the body Blush I have no back or side fat and no riding up

I really need to check I'm in something right though as I have recently been referred to a breast clinic as I have constant severe pain in my right breast
