I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:38

Do you mean they seem too long (you say they are short so you shorten them)

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:40

Gingerbiscuit it can mean you are nearer the bottom of your size estimate, so maybe a size down, but it also means you need to scoop generally due to softness - boobs need bossed around. Will also mean something like a good balcony will be better than a plunge in general

gingerbiscuitandacuppatea · 28/02/2013 13:41

oh thanks.. I definitely find that plunge bra's just down work for me any more!

Flisspaps · 28/02/2013 13:41

Ok, my turn - 36, 45.

Today I am wearing a self-fitted DD, I've never been fitted by anyone else because I don't want to get my norks out.

gingerbiscuitandacuppatea · 28/02/2013 13:42

don't work rather..

LemonBreeland · 28/02/2013 13:42

oops was missing DD! Blush

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:42

flisspaps start with a 36G

Flisspaps · 28/02/2013 13:43

Thanks Stat :D

EpicOde · 28/02/2013 13:44

statistically challenged thank you - I will go try some next time i'm in town! Grin

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 28/02/2013 13:46

An E cup?!

Aaahahahahahaha!

No way - they are teeny wee handfuls.

LemonBreeland · 28/02/2013 13:47

ginger I hear you with the saggy boob bit. Since having DD mine are very soft. I definitely need a balcony style to keep them in place, or a fuller cup style.

NeverQuiteSure · 28/02/2013 13:48

Oops, sorry, yes I meant that they are too long, so I shorten them. Otherwise the bra doesn't give any lift and the straps are forever sliding off my shoulders.

I'm going to order a load of bras online, which sizes around the 30E should I be trying?

Thank you!

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:48

Honest, in a small back an e isn't huge. a 28e is the same volume as a 38a

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 13:49

ItsAllGoingToBeFine Remember that the volume of an E cup in a 28 back is considerably smaller than the volume of an E cup in, say, a 34E.

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 13:49

ItsAll the volume of the cup in a 28E will be similar to your current 32D but on a smaller band.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:49

Neverquitesure, prime sign of bra being too big in the back is shoulder strap slippage. but also look for straps which are fully adjustable

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 13:50

X posts SC

(Had to pop out for an interview. When I returned and saw another 4 pages I felt like I'd deserted my post!)

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 13:50

Never in the right size you'll find that you don't need to yank the straps up for lift. You'll get it from the band and the cups, the straps are only a small part of it.

ceeveebee · 28/02/2013 13:51

I've just had a text message telling me my bras from "My curves and me" have been delivered so can't wait to try them on when I get home from work -currently wearign 34B and ordered 30DD so fingers crossed they are the right size for me!

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 13:54

I missed my delivery this morning from My Curves and Me. Got a feeling at least one bra is going to be too small in the cup.

Cherrychopsticks · 28/02/2013 13:57

I've just had a look online for nursing bras in my newly recommended sizes (30FF/28G) and there's not a lot out there. I like a bit of padding to keep the bullet nipples in Blush
Any suggestions?

NeverQuiteSure · 28/02/2013 13:57

Thank you so much statistically and celtic

This will change my life. I'm so excited to start shopping. When you say to try the sizes around 30E do you mean strap sizes too, or just cup size?

Which online stores are good?

AshokanFarewell · 28/02/2013 13:57

Wow thank you Statisically and Celtic. I can't believe the difference! Shock my bras at the moment are either 36B or 34C, no wonder they're so uncomfortable.

I might pop out and try some on this afternoon.

Is it okay to buy bras from M&S if I use the sizes on this thread? It's the only shop in town that sells bras. If they even do them in those sizes!

plusonemore · 28/02/2013 13:58

can you check me please Grin

36 and 48 (!!!)
currently wear 36GG

Thanks so much!

Mockingcurl · 28/02/2013 14:00

Ok, so my lovely new 36E bra arrived today. I could do with a bit of advice tough.
It's really comfortable, the band is snug and horizontal and the front is flat against my rib cage. I have scooped for England and all flesh is in the cup. The problem I have is that the cup seems very big at the top. It's got enough room to stick my hand in. The wires are flat against my ribs and are comfortable.
Is this the right size, if not what size to try?

Thank you
