I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

Queuing up for a fitting... :)

Currently wearing non-wired nursing bra in 32D fitted in JL. Have lost weight since then.

Under 28/30 (breathing out/breathing in pulled tight)

Over 34/36 (in bra/dangling loose measurement)

Current bra knackered (holes) and worn on near tightest setting. Leaves deep red marks on front (Inc lowest bit of breast) and sides.

I have teeny weeny spaniel ears - if I go to Bravissimo will they laugh at me for being too wee?

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 13:26

ginger I'd start with a 32GG or 34G.

Accidentally 30E.

LemonBreeland · 28/02/2013 13:26

ginger a 32H or 30GG

Accidentally a 30F

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:26

Ginerbiscuits try a 32GG, 32G, 34G and 34FF
Accidentallyquirky start with a 30E
Ashokanfarewell start with 32F, 32E, 34E, 34DD

Cherrychopsticks · 28/02/2013 13:27

Bloody hell! Really?!
Shame I don't get to keep them...Sad

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 13:27

Ashokan 32FF. Maybe 34F but 32 is more likely to be supportive.

It'sAllGoingToBeFine 28E for starters.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:27

itsallgoingtobefine start with a 28E/F/FF

Lemon, are you missing DD?

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:28

Sorry Ashokan, cant count, 32F/FF !

Accidentallyquirky · 28/02/2013 13:29

Thanks lemonbreeland and statistically challenged! Best go bra shopping

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 13:30

Morning SC.

EpicOde · 28/02/2013 13:30

Also rather confused - measure 32 under bust and about 39 around the bust - but am breastfeeding (lots!) so don't know if that affects things? Currently wearing a 36D, but have definitely shrunk under bust as the months since birth have gone by... Was a 34a pre baby so no idea really what I should be now! Would be interested to know what you think I should be wearing! :) Thank you! :D

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:30

Ello Celtic shimmies boobs as new greeting

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:31

EpiCode, start with a 32F. I suspect you were never actually a 34A

Cherrychopsticks · 28/02/2013 13:31

Thank you, looking forward to trying bras for the first time ever!

Shesparkles · 28/02/2013 13:32

I can't thank you enough for what you've done for my boobs! I went and actually tried on bras in the shop and have come away with a 42GG-not a part of the alphabet I thought I'd ever see in relation to my boobs!
What a difference in both looks and comfort-I felt like asking if I could "keep it on for going home" like wee ones do with new shoes!
Thanks Thanks Thanks

Jemimapuddleduk · 28/02/2013 13:32

Hello, I am 34 under and 43 over. Usually wear 32 e or f (bravissimo fitted) but 37 weeks pregnant at the mo. Would be useful to know what size I should be buying in nursing bra's.
Thank you

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:33

Shesparkles, apparently thats why Bravissimo started having the bra bins - because sooo many people did that!

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 13:34

Brilliant sparkles Smile

I am only evangelical about bra sizes because it literally changed my life when I was fitted in the correct size. It makes such a difference, especially if you have been uncomfortable.

NeverQuiteSure · 28/02/2013 13:34

Oh. My. God.

This makes so much sense. I have no bras that fit (in my defence, I was breastfeeding up until 5 months ago) and was trying to measure myself to order some new ones online last week. I gave up in the end. I just couldn't understand why every measuring guide put me at a different size (and why some of those sizes corresponded to bras I already own but didn't fit). I have been putting off a trip to M&S as (1) I really dislike most of their bras) and (2) they tried to get me in a 36A last time I visited. This was back when I was still breastfeeding, so considerably larger of nork than now. I left with a 36B which got half a day of wear before being relegated to the drawer under the bed.

Could I please have a virtual fitting? My measurements are:

back: 29.5" with squidge, 30" without
over-nork: 36" (fairly loose, but with nipples tucked in IYSWIM)

Thank you and Wine

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:34

Jemimapuddleduk, based on those measurements a 34G. However, I found that my ribs went back down quite a bit once bump was evicted so you may want to hang off and try 32s.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 13:35

NeverQuiteSure I would start with trying a 30E, but also try sizes around

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 13:35

Jemima I would start at a 34F just on measurements, but I am not an expert and there may be other considerations for nursing bras. I think you are likely to grow rapidly after the birth but then settle back down.

NeverQuiteSure · 28/02/2013 13:37

*I meant to add that bra straps always seem too short on me. I usually end up getting the sewing machine out and shortening them. Is this because I'm in the wrong size? I have broad shoulders and a wide torso and always put it down to being irregularly shaped.

I'll admit that I skipped 20 or so pages of this thread, so apologies if this has already been covered.

gingerbiscuitandacuppatea · 28/02/2013 13:38

wow thanks.. that a huge cup difference (even though I remember now I wear a DD not a D). Going to look on Figleaves now.

Does having worn out, almost empty sack like boobs from long breastfeeding (a few yrs ago now) not make any difference to the cup size? surely they would dangle low but have less volume?

NeverQuiteSure · 28/02/2013 13:38

x-post

30E Shock Might explain why I've never had a bra that fits well then! Thank you Thanks
