I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

Having remeasured myself as way different to what I was (thought I was 36C but am actually 30F Shock I've just ordered myself a couple of lovely balcony bras from Debenhams website in their sale - one was £9 the other £10 - also got free delivery and another 10% off with a code I found online.

I know it's not ideal buying online but there are free returns and they were such a bargain Smile

StarsAboveYou · 28/02/2013 10:50

I was 30.5/39 and Stats recommended I try a 30G.

If I'm going to order some bras online are there any other sizes I should think about chucking in my basket?

Thanks ladies! You are doing a fabulous job! Thanks

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 28/02/2013 10:53

Bruised, yes, 32e ish

EMUZ · 28/02/2013 10:58

Step - try a 38GG, 38H, 40GG

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 11:00

Step away start with 38h but be prepared to try smaller back- blog link somewhere upthread explains why

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 28/02/2013 11:01

Thanks will do... feel a shopping trip coming on despite a drawer full of undies Smile

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 11:06

Chisle 28DD or 30E.

Birnamwood · 28/02/2013 11:07

I walk like I've got rolls of carpets under my arms Blush but in fact I think this could be boobage. Currently wearing 40 d and measure 38/45. Does that make me an e/f?!

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 11:07

Stars you might want to try FF and GG as well, the cup is harder to get from measurements than the band. In smaller fitting bras you may want to go up in the band, so 32, and you would need to go down in the cup accordingly. But it is likely you will usually get better support from a 30.

Chislemum · 28/02/2013 11:08

Thanks Celtic. You guys really know your stuff. Hazel gave me a very similar answer on a related thread just now. Thank you to you both and to Sorrel for starting the threads.

Just realised that 28 does not seem to exist in European sizes?

Thumbwitch · 28/02/2013 11:08

36 chest, 46 boobs, please?

lilac26 · 28/02/2013 11:09

Okay...

How about 38 and 45 please?

Currently wearing obviously shockingly badly fitting bras - have lost 4 1/2 stone and still wearing the same ones, that can't be right can it!

Where would be a good place to buy from, reasonable quality but not too expensive as plan to lose another couple of stone so cannot invest a huge amount yet.

RedundantExpat · 28/02/2013 11:09

Thank you, HazleNut. may I reiterate my question to you? I am 79cm under, 101/102 over.

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 11:10

Birnamwood 38F, but you might also want to experiment with 36FF or G.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 11:10

Birnhamwood try a 38f but be prepared to try a smaller back and therefore bigger cup.

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 11:11

Thumbwitch 36GG for starters.

lilac 38F for starters, but maybe try 36FF or G too. Brastop.com is your friend for bargains in big sizes, also eBay and on Sorrel's advice I have got a bargain from Amazon on the way.

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 11:15

chisle I'm afraid I know nowt about European sizes! I believe Hazle knows something about them.

Thumbwitch · 28/02/2013 11:15

Thanks Celtic :)

Birnamwood · 28/02/2013 11:15

Thank you lovelies, off to order...

Btw, I've got some 20% off vouchers for m&s if anyone wants them, for use from today thro to Sunday and can be used online. I know their bra fitting is crap but if you've found your true size and want to get a new bra. Just pm me

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 11:16

Redundant start around a 30gg, 30g, 32g, 32ff in uk. I am at work just now but freya have a conversion chart on their website I think

HazleNutt · 28/02/2013 11:16

Redundant sure - so in inches that would make you about 31/40, which translates to about 30G/GG and in euro sizes, that's band size 65.

Cup might be more complicated, as there does not seem to be any consistency with the letters -some brands don't have FF and GG sizes, so UK FF would be EUR G, but not always.

But it's almost impossible to find anything over G in most brands, and anything as small as 65, so your best bet is still to order the bras from UK I'm afraid.
