I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

i had an intervention

went from being a 36A (M&S) to a 32D/DD unless its a wonderbra ultimate strapless then its a 34D or la senza balconette strapless which is 34DD (was warned with both the back comes up small)

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 09:53

Thank you Sorrel. Smile

EMUZ · 28/02/2013 09:53

pod I would try a 30DD or a 28E

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 09:55

Pod try a 28e, 28f, 30dd and 30d

EMUZ · 28/02/2013 09:55

And can I just recommend fuller figure fuller busts blog and Facebook page? Because she is lovely and gives amazing advice. She also has a shocking m&s article somewhere, will see if I can find it

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 09:57

Has anyone who knows how to do such things tweeted this thread at M&S? And every other offending shop!

beanbump · 28/02/2013 09:58

Could I please ask for help too??? I get such sore armpits (quite puffy dr said breast tissue) & I always feel that the underwire is digging into it. M&S measured me as a 42B. My measurements are 38 under bust & 44 at the fullest part. This thread is fantastic!! A revelation!!

pod3030 · 28/02/2013 09:58

cor blimey!!!! thanks EMUZ & Stat who'dathunkit? :)

EMUZ · 28/02/2013 10:00

beanbump try a 38E

ScrambledSmegs · 28/02/2013 10:00

Ah, dammit. I hate full cup bras. Thanks Sorrel. Will have to wander into local fancy lingerie shop and see what she says.

Hazle sadly Anita, Hotmilk and Emma Jane don't go lower than 32 bands, I've found. If there are nursing mothers who are 30 or below, try Panache and Freya, and maybe there are more out there that can be recommended.

I've been warned to avoid Lorna Dew by friends. Unsupportive and not well made, allegedly. Can't confirm myself.

EMUZ · 28/02/2013 10:00

Here's one of the articles

Thank you so much EMUZ - shopping this afternoon!!

pixi2 · 28/02/2013 10:02

I am 29 and 32. What should I be wearing

SecondHandNews · 28/02/2013 10:03

Statistically - you were right about the 30DD being too small in the cup. So a 30E at least. Even with a 30 I can pull it out from by body about 1.5 inches at least. So a 28? I can just imagine it might feel too tight. 28F? I officially have no correctly fitting bras. I am wearing a tight 32DD which I have done up on the tightest hooks in the meantime. Would rather that than the slight double boob I get with the 30DD. Though I am sure they did once fit me without 4 boobs as I loathe that! I still have about 4lbs to lose to get back to my natural pre-preg weight so that could be it.

Oddly I have a 32E which I ordered when I was first pregnant and the back feels quite tight but the cup is MILES too big - even if the back went down it wouldn't fit. It is a Freya one. I suppose they all fit differently and it is probably best to try them on rather than order online though tricky with two kids! But I think I need to get myself to a lingerie shop asap. Can't imagine 28F is a common size though...

Thanks for your help - really appreciate it!

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 10:05

Pixi try 28D.

devoncreamtea · 28/02/2013 10:05

Thanks statistically! Sounds mahoosive!! Will get on case.

stacysmom · 28/02/2013 10:06

I'm a 30 and 38. Since our fab local underwear shop closed I have been putting off buying anything new as I don't trust the M&S high street fitters.

EMUZ · 28/02/2013 10:06

with the underbust measurements I am a bit of a weirdo who doesn't take my own advice Grin Blush
I measure 36 underbust but wear a 32 or 34 as its comfy and supportive. Dress size I am a 16 so it's madness people who are size 8/10 are being fitted in 36+ bands Angry

Stacysmom try a 30FF, you would probably need a G if they don't do an FF

pixi2 · 28/02/2013 10:07

Ooooo, thank you. I will.

Current on a 30d so m&s didn't do too bad then. They did check the straps etc but apologised and said 30s were all they had.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 28/02/2013 10:08

Surely someone from M&S lingerie should be sitting up and taking notice now? They're losing sales all over the place!

devoncreamtea · 28/02/2013 10:11

Thanks statistically! Sounds mahoosive!! Will get on case...

stacysmom · 28/02/2013 10:11

Wow, I'm currently drowing in a drawer full of the dreaded 34Bs... thank you so much.

Now then, who is the best on-line bra retailer? Straight to Bravissimo, right?

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 10:12

They are good, but also try brastop.com for bargains!
