I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

I'd say try a 32H, 32GG, 34G and a 34FF so not fair from what you already have. To be fair I have a Bravissimo bra in a 30H (I'm usually a 30G/GG) and it is still a bit small in the cup. I think some of their half cup/balconette styles are quite shallow in the cup.

TheSloppelganger · 28/02/2013 07:45

I've been wearing 36F for years and my first act when I get home is always to take my bra off with a sigh of relief. I thought uncomfortable bras were just a curse of having somewhat bigger than 'average' boobs to lug around - having been properly measured and all Hmm

So with a 31 under measurement and a 43 boob-dangle measurement I should be trying to find what? 30J? 32HH?

I can clinch the tape measure in to 30 under-boob, but that does make it uncomfortably tight really, so 32 might be better?

Thank you for this. I had no idea that I might be wearing the wrong size - feel quite excited by the prospect of finding a bra which might feel nice!

OrangeLily · 28/02/2013 07:46

Thanks Sorrell.... Does that mean Bravissimo may have got it right then?!

I always try a 32 but just never feels right.

I do like a good scoop in the mornings. DH always looks confused no matter how many times I explain!!

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 07:48

Bravissimo are very good indeed. Lots of lovely bras too. You may find a 32 ok in a bigger cup. Try a 32H!

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 07:52

TheSloppelGanger try 30H, 30HH, 32H and a 32GG. Most people between sizes end up sizing down. Try the bras on back to front first to see if the band fits. If you can get more than two fingers under the band then it's too big!

Happy shopping.

OrangeLily · 28/02/2013 07:53

Thank you I will do!

No, a new one on me. The bras and bikinis look nice though. Definitely worth a visit but beware ladies with tape measures adding on inches. Take a load of sizes and styles into the changing room and use the guidons above to assess fit. If any of their staff look at you and guesstimate the size we've suggested you try then it might be worth letting them help you.

TheSloppelganger · 28/02/2013 08:04

Excellent, thank you.

cricketfantoo · 28/02/2013 08:23

Help me too please!

Have done the measuring - I'm 32 under bust and 39 over (definitely spaniel's ears dangling). (Cricketdog Spaniel looking cross at being used for such a comparison!)

I have mostly 34C from M&S but am wearing those sports top type genie bras as they're comfortable. Blush I look flat and shapeless.

I do have a 32C (from Sadie the Bra Lady shops up in the Sunderland area) but it's tight in the cups. To be fair I have had it a long time and I think I've put weight on since then.

Thanks in advance !

EMUZ · 28/02/2013 08:25

cricket - try a 32F

HazleNutt · 28/02/2013 08:25

try 32F instead cricket.

Furball · 28/02/2013 08:27

I'm another in need of help

am currently wearing a 38 c

and measure 38 under and 46 round boobage

SausageInnaBun · 28/02/2013 08:27

I have just measured myself again. My underbust measurment in 28 inches, boob measurement is 36.5inches (they change size though as I'm breastfeeding). I was fitted as a 32F/FF at bravissimo, the bra isn't the right size, it doesn't feel massive on the band but the cups are gapey, seems too big. I can't see how I could fit in a 28 back. What sizes should I try?

diddl · 28/02/2013 08:28

OK, finally measured myself.

32 & half/39 & half.

So what cup size?

In cms that's 83/101 & I'm currently wearing an 80c.

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 08:33

Furball, try a 38FF. How does the band feel on your current 38s when you put it on back to front?

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 08:35

Sausage, try a 28F. The band will fit as long as the cup is big enough. Test the band by trying it on back to front first. The F cup on your current bras is a bigger volume than a 28F and that (together with too big a band) is why you've got gaping. What happens in your current bras if you scoop?

SorrelForbes · 28/02/2013 08:36

Diddl, try a 32FF and sizes around that.

diddl · 28/02/2013 08:39

I´m not in the UK.

So my current bra being an 80c sounds ok bandwise as I do measure 83cms.

But will try different cups.

RedundantExpat · 28/02/2013 08:43

Bra Experts, can you do cm at all? I am 79cm under bust and 102 over. But on continent. I get totally confused over french, Euro, UK measurements.

and also: Can someone send this thread to M&S customer service?

Furball · 28/02/2013 08:43

sorrel - i've checked me bra and it's really comfy to lose. I've re measured and round and i'm actually 36

so 36
and 46 - re checked both

No wonder I'm all skewed - I can't even measure meself accurately and sorry for making you answer twice Blush

OooShiney · 28/02/2013 08:44

I'm currently wearing a 36GG courtesy of debenhams

Chest measures 35.5 and boobs 46.

Have made my toddler giggle at my dangling boobies.

I am 33 weeks pregnant and planning to BF. I was wearing 38J maternity bras last time and they were tight in the cup.

What size do you advise?

OooShiney · 28/02/2013 08:45

Snap furball!

LegArmpits · 28/02/2013 08:46

God this is a revelation. All my life long I've HATED bras. Now I know why.

So. I am 32" under boobage and 39/40" hanging low. Your diagnosis, please.
burns 38Cs

LegArmpits · 28/02/2013 08:46

32FF!!!!??!
