I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

I love that description AllIWant, made me smile!

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/02/2013 20:05

Maybe it was a game of "pin the tail on the bra sizing chart" at Trevails?

That's not even adding on 4/5 inches a la M&S! Just seems random.

Weener · 27/02/2013 20:08

Hello can I have a bra intervention please? I just did the measuring thing and am 28/29 underneath and 37 round...i currently wear a 32E and can't imagine a band size less than 32 being comfy at all!

Thanks! :)

IAmSheWhoMustBeObeyed · 27/02/2013 20:08
Thanks
SnotMeReally · 27/02/2013 20:08

pleeeease...

Another here needing help - have been putting up with badly fitting bras far too long!

Only last weekend I had to cut the sides to pull out the plastic vertical reinforing thingy as it was bending like an arch and sticking into me

I measure 40 under and 51 when all dangling loose when bent over

What the heck size is that please (cos 40DD aint doing it).
Wires lay snuggly against me in the cleavage area, but underwires not cupping all tissue and not sitting snug under my boobs

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 27/02/2013 20:11

I was wearing 36b/c as per M&S

I measure 31.5 under bust, 37 over. I now wear 32E.

mummytowillow · 27/02/2013 20:11

I'm wearing 38DD
Measured at M&S and i work for them Blush

What size should i be if i'm 37 underneath and 44 on top please?

Best bra fitting I've ever had was at Rigby & Peller, she looked at me topless and brought bras and they all fit! Not cheap though, they said i was 36G?

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/02/2013 20:11

Weener, start with a 28G, but you could also try a 30F(and size in between(

SnotMeReally....how does the back on the 40 feel (put it on back to front so that you can just assess how tight the back is please)

PDog · 27/02/2013 20:12

Please can someone help me? Currently wearing a very poor fitting 42C nursing bra, which rides right up my back.

Just measured and am a 38 round back and 49 over boobs.

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/02/2013 20:13

Mummytowillow, I'd say you are still pretty close to your R&P fitted size. Your measurements would suggest a 36FF, but the cup is always a bit more variable.

(don't worry we won't lynch you!)

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/02/2013 20:14

PDog, start at a 38H and work from there, but look at the monster post I put somewhere on this thread titled "recognizing a good bra" to help you get it right.

Weener · 27/02/2013 20:15

Thank you! 28 just sounds so teeny but I shall give it a try!!

mummytowillow · 27/02/2013 20:15

Statiscally - can you tell me why my bra digs in under the armpits, its torture!

Thanks for all your help Thanks

Perissa · 27/02/2013 20:18

Can someone do me?

I've measured and I'm 28 under and 33/34 round. So what would I be?

Thanks Smile

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/02/2013 20:18

Is it the 38DDs which are doing that? If so, likely reason is because the cup is too small, so the tissue the wire is sitting on is actually soft breast tissue which is quite tender.

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/02/2013 20:18

Perissa, start with a 28DD and 28E

SnotMeReally · 27/02/2013 20:18

erm...not tight, not loose - can fit a flat hand under it comfortably but can also stretch it and pull it well away from my body - can shuffle it round front to back easily

when I go bra shopping I generally take a couple into the changing room and buy the least bad one - feel too embarrassed to try on loads!!

PointeShoes · 27/02/2013 20:19

Hi , could someone tell me what I'm meant to be, please?

I've just measured as 29 and a half, around the smallest and 36 around the biggest.

I'm currently wearing a 34B- but have also got 34d/c which also fit as those ones are padded/ push up.

Thanks

Benby · 27/02/2013 20:20

Hi girls, I used to work for m&s and I've never felt their bras fitted right. I just measured myself now and my back is 36 pulled tight and around my chest is 52 ! ! ! This seems huge I wear a range of different sizes from 38g to 42g and I have a 36g which I wear when I want a bit of a lift but it cuts into me terrible.
So if anyone could help and recommend what size to try that would be a great help
Regards
Benby

Shesparkles · 27/02/2013 20:21

I'd really appreciate help too! I'm 43 underneath and 53 Blush round.
I don't think I've ever vp been measured properly!

InMySpareTime · 27/02/2013 20:21

34G
26GG Shock
Boux Avenue
In their flimsy defence, I have lost 3 stone since then, but they still added 5 inches and I could take the bra off without unhooking it within a week of buying it (just slightly too long to bring them backConfused)
Unfortunately I still have 1/2 a stone at least to lose, so bras will only get more impossible to buy.
I have asked MNHQ to have a bra campaign, if we all report our posts asking for a campaign hopefully they'll have to bow to pressure and I'm angling for a product testGrin

Perissa · 27/02/2013 20:22

Thank you very much. Day off tomorrow so will be trawling the shops trying on Grin

Shesparkles · 27/02/2013 20:22

I should say I've been wearing a 42D

Foosyerdoos · 27/02/2013 20:26

Hello lovely bra ladies, please help me find a correctly fitting bra, I am currently wearing a 38 E(fitted by me) but measure 34 / 45. Cheers

MsRinky · 27/02/2013 20:26

I was wearing a 40B or 40C because I thought that was what chubby lasses with not very big knockers wore. They always dug in and I thought I must need to get a 42.

Now I wear a 36E and look foxy and perky, thanks to Sorrel.
