to have moved seats after obese woman continously farted through the film?

It was a local village do, she is a nice lady and I had chatted with her before the film as she was sitting next to me. The first couple of farts I tried not to notice. But they kept on coming and it was making me retch. I had no option but to move seats in the break.

I did not confront her and I tried to cover my nose as discreetly as I could but do you think I was rude for not bearing it out until the end of the film?

No, not unreasonable. I'd have done the same. I wouldn't put up with that for the sake of being 'polite'.

I don't think you were rude to move, however perhaps she had a bowel disorder, two of my relatives have this and they are very self-conscious and avoid social events because it is so embarassing. So, have a little compassion (and the weight thing is a red herring, because the people I know with this are not overweight).

My DH is skinny. His farts are much more unpleasant than my fat ones.

I'm far from fat and after the lamb hotpot I had for dinner, I've been farting like a goodun.

Even the dog has moved away from me in disgust.

YANBU about moving away from a stink, but how did you know it was her? Are obese ladies farts coloured so you could see the fart fumes coming from her?

Or did you just assume that because she was fat, she must be farty?
