when you became a mother for the first time/when you had your other children if you've got more than one?
More of an 'I know I am being nosy'!
Am 31,married to a lovely man and becoming keen but feel scared still, which I hope is normal, but time is ticking!
Please share your experiences (ages/fears)!
Thanks :)

Ds1 - 26

Ds2 - 28

(19mth age gap)

Ds3 - 33

Ds4 - about to be born at 34

(15mth age gap)

Didn't feel right having ds3 maybe feel 'left out' with large age gap and ds1&2 being so close both in age and bond.

Just turned 39 and I'm done. I find 2 very easy, good NT children Hard Work, so it wouldn't be fair on anyone!

I started trying earlier (at 30) but I had 3 miscarriages before my first and 1 between. It was not a smooth path for me by any means.

So don't delay!

There are just over 3 years between the two, it looks like 4 because of birthdays. I reckon there's never a perfect time to have a baby, when everything is somehow magically "in place", and Mother Nature can play some tricks - DD took a bit of encouragement, so we were a bit surprised when DS was easy.

Scared is normal, if you think about it, given the changes DC bring, but it's doable and there is always MN for advice/support/grounding when it feels like it's not. Second time around is less scary than the first IME! Good luck OP.

Had dc1 at 28, dc2 at 30, with 1 mc before dc1 and two more in between dc1 and 2.

Am 35 now and got pregnant accidentally last year, but had another mc. Are going to give it a last go.

You can never really know how things will go fertility-wise. You might get pg easily well into your 40s, or you might struggle in your 20s. I have always got pregnant very easily indeed - it's the staying pregnant that's the trouble (and a genetic clotting issue that hasn't manifested otherwise has turned up as the reason). At 31 I think I wouldn't want to be hanging around - but I felt like that at 27 when we first conceived. We weren't in an 'ideal situation', but we knew we could support any dcs we had and get through. If we'd waited for everything to be perfect, we'd have waited several more years, I think, and perhaps had even more trouble having our two.

Oh, and every single time I got pg, even though all were wanted and even the surprise conception filled me with delight once I was over the shock, I had a point of thinking 'oh shit oh shit oh shit, what have I done?' Being scared is absolutely normal, to the point that I think it's inevitable - but not a reason not to do it! :)

Bump-am expecting No3, will be 39 when he/she is born.

They do all have the same dad, we just had to wait a long time for No2 to make an appearance. I would have loved all my children to be close in age, but it wasn't meant to be. I am grateful I got them all eventually...we thought DD was going to be an only child!!

I had DS when I was 20. Going to TTC for number two when I lose a bit of weight, so hopefully we have a nice 2-3 year gap.

I'd like to say that being young doesn't mean you'll sail through it, I had the most horrific pregnancy with SPD and constant nausea. They say the younger you are the more energy you'll have to cope with it, pffft. I was exhausted.
