Planet X/Nibiru is the supposed planet. I promise this isn't true! If there was a "rogue planet" close enough to cause any problems in 2 weeks then it would be VISIBLE to ALL by now. There are hundreds of thousands of amateur star gazers around the world and we would 101% know about this so-called rogue planet if it existed.

Mmm. I love rose and violet creams too. And also coffee creams but they're hard to get these days. I did see some in a shop last week but I thought if I get them I won't be able to keep them till Christmas.

Polar shifts have happened since the beginning of time

ok, just seen the plant isn't true.

Plus even if it was there is no way it would have any impact on orbit/poles or the seas.

On and with the rouge planet, I'm sure the Americans will take care of that, they had plans to blow up the moon in the 60's.

Kaylasmum

Here's how i see it. Even the world is going end then, let's get on with living our lives in the best way possible until then. Enjoy your children while they're young, look after yourself, look out for other people who need help, do something fun. Just don't waste time worrying about things which are highly unlikely to happen.

If you are not able to get on with day to day life, make time to see your GP, and tell them how you are feeling.

thank you all for helping to allay my fears, i'm still scared but hopefully i can rationalise a bit better now with all this info. I've been feeling a decline in my mental health since i started to worry about this and i don't want to become as ill as i was last year.

Kaylasmum I have ridiculous anxiety problems too, I do know how you feel. Even though I am not religious I was in a terrible anxious state last year when that nutty American predicted "the rapture".

It doesn't take much to set me off but I have done SO much reading and research about this and it really is a hoax.

OP, relax. Given the snow is predicted, local Waitrose might run out of essentials, ie, wine etc, however, end of the world it won't be. Pretty awful, admittedly, but not end of the world.

Other than those of us who specifically go out of our way to study such peoples very few will have come across the tribe, or you might know the name but not much else (just like the Aztec, the Incas etc). ...''

Where do you live, under which rock, may I ask? Even my 4 year old DTs know about Maya culture etc. What did they teach you at school???

Ok:- giants, elves, fairies, leprechauns, angels, day of judgement, flying spaghetti monster, ghosts, ghouls, demons, devils, evil spirits etc. etc. etc. don't exist. They are figments of the human imagination. Stop worrying about them and enjoy your life. If you must worry:- worry about something real e.g. climate change, child poverty etc, and then do something practical about those things. The other stuff is mediaeval claptrap.

one more thing, did the mayans make an predictions that have come true?

Maya is a Mezoamerican civilization, one wouldn't call it a 'tribe', which, surely, after all your deep research, you are well aware of. Hmm

Actually we were taught very little about the Aztecs and nothing at all about the Mayans or Incas when I was at school. I would like to know more ,I have no idea why this part of history was ignored.

Now come on, Rollmops. Just have a look at the latest data on Yellowstone.

(Maybe I should open that gin now!)

Kayla, you have to bear in mind that the Mayans lived long ago, and they predicted an end to the world. Well, their world or civilization has already come to an end!

Report
kaylasmum · 05/12/2012 12:42

see this is why i worry, one person says the mayans did'nt predict the end of the world and someone else says they did!

@kayla no more than any other group of people.

I don't believe they were big on prophesies anyway, which is why they didn't bother to predict the end of the world.

AboutThyme · 05/12/2012 12:43

Kayla it isn't a prediction that this is based on. It is the fact that the Mayan long count calendar (they had 3 calendars) "ends" on 21st December 2012. However, it simply resets and starts again from 0 if you will. Same as years ago you flipped your calendar from 31st December 1999 to 1st January 2000. Nothing bad happened then, same applies here Smile.

(There is also a report somewhere, National Geographic website I think; that shows that further calendars were found in May of this year which show time way in the future, thus proving that nothing is going to "end" in December).

@kayla I think Gold is joking Grin

Our civilisation is open to the possibility of the end of the world when the sun expands and engulfs it. But say someone picked up a computer in 2990 and noticed that it wasn't programmed past 3000. Do you think they should freak out as we had 'predicted the end of the world in 3000'?

because this is the exact same thing!
