Been reading various threads on mn with interest for several weeks now.why do u ladies feel do pessimistic about ur work life balance and compete with the ' oh poor me title'. If you want a better quality of life, surely u can downsize and have less financial Responsibilty and then look after ur dc yourself instead of paying others to look after them. I just don't get why you have kids unless you wanna love And look them yourself. This doesnt apply to single parents.is the financial gain worth it?

OP posts:
Oblomov · 27/11/2012 16:10

There is something about he OP that I just can't put my finger on.
Despite the rich daddy and critical mother, she is seriously emotionally messed up
AND not just because she was posting on an i-phone , with txt-speak..... but there is just something about her.
You know when someone is really really ..... (I don't know what word to use). Really thick. Or really dim. You explain it again and again and again. But they just can't GET it.
I think that's her.

BlingBubbles · 27/11/2012 16:10

On my word this thread has moved fast, I read the first 400 replies while on my way into work and had a reply all set out in mind, got into work and was swamped and just came back to it now - think my long reply is no longer needed.

Simply answer is, I work because I have the choice, because I can and because I want to. I dont feel the need to justify my family decisions to idiots like the OP and my SIL!

OP do what's best for your family and just get on with it with, stop criticizing others peoples choices, I am sure our "neglected, unloved and abandoned" children will be fine without you interfering. Talking of abandoned kids I better go and fetch mine!

ThatVikRinA22 · 27/11/2012 16:12

i wonder what OP expected given that even the title of her post is aggressive. aggression tends to be met with aggression.

Jins · 27/11/2012 16:14

Good to see that very few of her posts have been deleted though. Let idiocy stand for posterity :)

FunnysInLaJardin · 27/11/2012 16:14

oh, both my posts have been deleted. S'pose they could have been construed as troll hunting, when what I really meant was that I think that the OP is a shit stirrer looking for a fight and not that she was a troll in the true hairy handed sense

MurderOfGoths · 27/11/2012 16:14

"i've only read up to page 11 so far. Has the OP explained yet why it's only mothers who are suitable to raise children and not fathers?"

Something about it being the man's job to bring home the bacon apparently

Oblomov · 27/11/2012 16:16

OP = "I just disagree with mums who choose to work and stick kids in childcare for (others to raise) rather than who HAVE to."

Thats me then. She has a problem with ME. Oh goody. how exciting.

I choose to work. For a plethora of reasons.

I am the VERY type that she opposes. How entertaining.

Jeepers the big red button at MNHQ must be red hot Grin.

Jins · 27/11/2012 16:20

Remembered a bit more about my deleted post and it was probably a fair call after all Blush

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 27/11/2012 16:23

I get very confused on threads like this. I feel that deliberate goading and shit stirring is equally meritting of deletion as any troll hunting. But one is deleted and the other is left.....

MurderOfGoths · 27/11/2012 16:25

I like how my post apologising to MNHQ for making them extra work was deleted! Grin

HoneyDragon · 27/11/2012 16:32

Did I mention I haven't been deleted?

Well done MNHQ; a record for deletions in a thread. And good humour retained too, despite intense provocation (from the OP IMHO)

Absy · 27/11/2012 16:37

But then what happens if you don't eat bacon?

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 27/11/2012 16:38

Shock did this thread geet MORE deletions than the hair dye one the other day?

ThatVikRinA22 · 27/11/2012 16:41

i've just read all 37 pages of this thread, and i just want to add my point of view.
i put my dd in nursery, and i genuinely do that for her benefit.
i love her more than i can express, and i bring her up along with my husband.
she has so much more of a stimulating and fun time at nursery, she is learning so much more than she would if she was at home with me.
i'm pretty sure you can get bored of staring at just my face all day every day.
we spend time together reading/playing in the mornings and evenings and weekends. i work full time, and its not even becuase i have much of a career, i just think that i am doing her a great service by letting her have her own little group of friends, some independence and other adult role models.
i dont mind/care if anyone agrees or not. but she's so happy and confident and polite and well-rounded, it works for us and that's all that matters.
i do not neglect her in any way, she is the centre of our universe, she's a lucky, loved and happy girl.

ThatVikRinA22 · 27/11/2012 16:43

...but i go to work so i can bring home the bacon. thats jointly owned bacon. he brings home bacon too.
we are a two bacon household here. by necessity.

HoneyDragon · 27/11/2012 16:45

Nope. Scrolled up Maryz, not one. Paragon of Fucking Virtue, me.

I think that is an impressive score in light of the goading and assumptive unpleasantness of the opening post.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 27/11/2012 16:46

Will you all stop going on about bacon , it's making me SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did think that MNHQ were going to clamp down on goading?

HoneyDragon · 27/11/2012 16:51

I am going to order a pizza. I'm on the computer so may as well stay here to produce dinner. The oven's like 7 whole foot away.
