Been reading various threads on mn with interest for several weeks now.why do u ladies feel do pessimistic about ur work life balance and compete with the ' oh poor me title'. If you want a better quality of life, surely u can downsize and have less financial Responsibilty and then look after ur dc yourself instead of paying others to look after them. I just don't get why you have kids unless you wanna love And look them yourself. This doesnt apply to single parents.is the financial gain worth it?

I like the serendipity of this thread. All the types united together in the face of smuggy twatteriness.

Don't you have to say "I think the right honourable member who started this thread is being deliberately inflammatory and self centred"? Twunt is not exactly parliamentary language.

SoupDragon · 27/11/2012 15:52

All I did was suggest the OP started this thread for a laugh! Shock

[innocent]

MurderOfGoths · 27/11/2012 15:52

Damn Rowans quick today! Have you been training Rowan? Maybe that should be a new olympic sport, who can hit the delete button quickest?

ThatVikRinA22 · 27/11/2012 15:53

Honey im not clever and i didnt spot it for a-g-e-s. (self confessed unclever person)

cory · 27/11/2012 15:54

I think there is something touchingly vulnerable in the OPs need to believe that as long as she and her partner have traditional values and don't shag around, nothing can touch them.

Not like my feckless friend whose (faithful and family orientated) husband died suddenly and left her a widow in very straitened circumstances, unable to get a job that paid the bills because of her lack of up-to-date qualifications.

Or like myself whose (likewise faithful) husband has just been served with his redundancy notice- as has every single man and woman in the firm: funnily enough, when they close down a business they don't stop around to think about the employees' shagging habits.

Or like those MNers whose husbands have become unable to work due to sudden injury or illness. Again, there are quite crippling conditions which are not caused by shagging around.

BUT SHE STILL HAS NOT EXPLAINED WHAT THERE IS WRONG WITH A FAMILY MINDED STAY-AT-HOME-DAD! (my brother would really like to know)

She has definitely said that it would be taking feminism too far, so can't now back-track and claim being raised by either parent is as good. She has stated repeateadly that men should not be doing this job. I still want to know why.

HoneyDragon · 27/11/2012 15:55

SoupDragon · 27/11/2012 15:55

i am a sahm and even though i would like to get back into woring one day,it grates on me when people say what will you do once the kids are at school because

A. there is plenty to do,fair enough it may be menial things but its not like things run hemselves.

B.you can get enjoyment from other things apart from a job.....seeing friends and family, hobbies(hate that word)just enjoying your life.i know a lot of people cant do that because of money reasons but some can and do,

Our plan is to move abroad in the next 3 years, our kids will all be school and kinder age then so our days will be filled with sunbathing and siestas Smile

SoupDragon · 27/11/2012 15:57

But can someone explain why
Oh why
Xenia was mentioned?
Of course I may be missing something.
For I haven't read the whole
Fred. But,
Really what was the point
Of this thread. It was never
Going to go well was it?
Surely the OP knew that.

HoneyDragon · 27/11/2012 15:57

Mryz you missed an O

Soupy - if you hunned it would be assassination not deletion.

Tweasels · 27/11/2012 15:58

Maryz . That brought a tear to my eye. What a beautiful post.

HoneyDragon · 27/11/2012 15:58

Pah! My posts have been deleted however the OPs goading replies haven't been!

has the m#t#oo name been mentioned yet

Absy · 27/11/2012 16:04

i've only read up to page 11 so far. Has the OP explained yet why it's only mothers who are suitable to raise children and not fathers?

She seems such a genius, I would love to know.

TIA

I know which post of mine was deleted and I think the guidelines must be a bit narrower than I thought
