Been reading various threads on mn with interest for several weeks now.why do u ladies feel do pessimistic about ur work life balance and compete with the ' oh poor me title'. If you want a better quality of life, surely u can downsize and have less financial Responsibilty and then look after ur dc yourself instead of paying others to look after them. I just don't get why you have kids unless you wanna love And look them yourself. This doesnt apply to single parents.is the financial gain worth it?

Lionsntigersnbears · 26/11/2012 23:07

OP, does your mum know you're out of bed?

OrangeLily · 26/11/2012 23:07

Hahahahaha outstanding OP...

Hmm
TheOldestCat · 26/11/2012 23:07

Ask working dads the same question and we'll answer.

Yes, we 'career mums' will then get back to you and answer your interesting and well-posed question. There'll be a consensus, as we all think the same.

Is that ok with you? I mean, U?

KnottyLocks · 26/11/2012 23:07

Going well so far Smile

Chubfuddler · 26/11/2012 23:07

Is the financial gain worth it?

Yes, thanks. Next fatuous question?

Otherworld · 26/11/2012 23:08

Blah blah whatever - try harder next time.

nkf · 26/11/2012 23:08

Dear Jenna, you have totally changed my mind. That short but oh so insightful post of yours has totally made me see the error of my ways. What a wicked witch I have been. Thank you. And God bless. Your kids are so lucky.

Is that better?

IAmSoFuckingRock · 26/11/2012 23:08

yes homeEco what gave me away? Grin

Kewcumber · 26/11/2012 23:08

Why did all the text speak in your first post disappear in your second? Confused

LilyVonSchtupp · 26/11/2012 23:08

Why did your DH have a kid if he wasn't willing to stay at home and look after her? Bloody career dads only focusing on their own goals and desires.

Chubfuddler · 26/11/2012 23:09

How old is your child btw? I'm betting less than twelve months ....

WorraLiberty · 26/11/2012 23:09

Fucking hell are you really that bored?

There are so many other more worthwhile things you could be doing than starting a thread like this.

Shovelling shit from left to right and back again.
Standing on one leg and pretending to be a Stork.
Read a book and learn something.
Try to head butt the ceiling.
Increase your hand-eye coordination by throwing kitchen knives at the wall.
Dress up like a burglar and try to break in to your own home.

Please think seriously about these things in future before logging on to MN.

Thank you Thanks

HiggsBoson · 26/11/2012 23:10

Jenna if your post is genuine...

..then you are VERY fortunate to have a partner who earns enough money to enable you to be a SAHM. Many of us don't have that luxury. We HAVE to work to survive you daft bint.

Tweasels · 26/11/2012 23:10

I can't believe I've been working for no reason. All that time I thought I was doing it to keep a roof over our heads and it turns out we were just living beyond our means.

And my poor children, will somebody think of the children

Jenna2012 thank you so much for coming here today and enlightening me.

Jenna2012 · 26/11/2012 23:11

Sarcastic comments, I don't live with parents, I have my own property with do. I just feel sad that sum ppl prioritise themselves over their kids.

Tincletoes · 26/11/2012 23:11

But I can buy loads of handbags! And go on lavish tropical holidays! I wish

Are the Daily Mail trying a new approach to get replies on here? One of them had to realise how to do it one day, ladies

Cortana · 26/11/2012 23:11

"because I believe I'm the best educator/ facilitator for my child"

and

"so plz no abuse"

Yeah, okay. Hmm

redrubyshoes · 26/11/2012 23:11

I feel torn about this OP.

I work with working mums. Three just get on with it and one disappears at every opportunity for piano lessons, ballet class, ill child etc etc. She hasn't done a full week for months and screams blue murder if she can't have time off for half term etc

The other working mums are brilliant and understand that they are paid for the work they do. Fine by me.

Juggling the two is bloody awful as I know.

splintersinmebum · 26/11/2012 23:11

Oh belt up you lot with the "popcorn" quips. It's very tedious.

nkf · 26/11/2012 23:12

Sum ppl indeed. Drat those ppl. They will get their cumupnce.
