hi, pls can any1 help with this problem? i placed an order with sportsdirect online, my parcel was left and signed for by a neighbor who refuses to acknowledge she has my parcel and wont speak to me! contacted sportsdirect (who dont advertise any contact numbers for customers, now i know why!) who basicaly said its not their problem that the neighbor wont return it? The courier firm (Yodel) that delivered the parcel have refered me back to sportsdirect so they wont take responsibility either! Do i just accept that Ive lost out or is there anything i could do about this???? :(

ZOMBIE! HmmHmmHmm

WellThatSucks · 24/05/2017 14:15

This is Sports Direct's problem not yours. They failed to fulfil the contract in delivering your items. Can you go on twitter or something and call them out on it? I had similar with an amazon delivery, contacted them since it was up to them to get the thing to me, they gave me no troubke, despatched a replacement and, presumably, dealt with thieving neighbour in an appropriate manner.

Yodel are the pits! They always lie and deliver my gusto food box straight to the consigerge saying I wasn't in..even when I've been in all afternoon and my bell didn't ring

ZOMBIE THREAD

@WellThatSucks - this is a zombie thread - from the end of 2012 - and the OP updated (back then) to say it had been sorted.

WhatIfWhatIf · 24/05/2017 14:40

This is Sports Direct's problem. Unless you told them to deliver it to a neighbour. Distance selling regulations mean it is their responsibility to deliver the items to you. They haven't done so which means they have not fulfilled their side of the 'contract'. They are obliged to resend the order or take it up with your neighbour. But I imagine they won't unless you tell them you know they have to.

Dumbo412 · 24/05/2017 14:41

I had a similar issue a few weeks ago. A Samsung s8+ was delivered up the road. It took us over a week to sort.
According to distance selling regs the item is the responsibility of the supplier until it has reached you. Hammered this point again and again until they relented and sent another phone out- this one we received.

Also, double check it actually reached your neighbour.
We got a card through the door saying our parcel was at such and such number. Went round multiple times, even sent a letter at polices reccommendation that we would go to the police if the parcel wasn't handed over as it would be treated as theft.

Neighbours denied having it again. Became aware that our neighbours don't even match the description of who it was delivered to. Few days later found out our parcel was 10miles or possibly Km away at the time it was signed for!

Good luck

WIBU to form a lynch mob for JrGooNer? Especially since resurrecting this thread is apparently their only post?

JrGooNer · 24/05/2017 20:16

OK my error was not seeing that there were another 7 pages of 190 replies but you people have been here longer and should have seen the thread was old before replying to it.. that's my excuse anyway.

If anything I've come along and taught you all a valuable lesson in reading things properly before posting..

And to answer the person who wondered how I got here, I was googling lost yodel parcels because mine hadn't arrived lol it has now so nobody needs to make an account in 5 years to ask me if I got it

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/05/2017 20:44

@JrGooNer - if you go to the top of the page, next to where it says Talk, there is a little downward arrow (v) - click on that, select customise, and select 1000 answers per page - since threads on here don't go over 1000 posts, you get the whole thread on one page, so it's easier to see when you have accidentally found a zombie thread.

JrGooNer
If you had looked at the date of last post you would have seen when it finished.

Everyone sees the new date and presumes its a new thread and follow your post not realising until they have read a few posts from the start that the date is wrong (and waisting time for nothing)
