I'm skint, on my own with dd who is at school but has a lot of health issues, misses school sometimes and has a lot of appointments to go to.

Finding work to fit in with this is proving bloody hard, I'm not highly qualified!

So I've been browsing work at home things after realising Avon and all that guff isn't for me I came across a company looking for female phone sex chat line operators. Big company, done a lot of googling research and they are legit.

So called them, filled out my application and was offered a start. So logged on last night at 10pm for 3 hours. It was fine. Most of the guys were really nice, some shy, some not, none were creepy! I am an open minded person anyway, and very chatty. I found it very easy to be honest and in those 3 hours I made £12.80 which isn't mega bucks but considering I was sitting in my lounge watching a movie between calls I don't think it's too bad.

I'm thinking I can log on whilst dd is at school and bring in some extra cash.

Will need to register as self employed etc which I will do.

I need to get in touch with them today to let them know what I want to do.

I don't think I could tell anyone though!!

mrskeithrichards I think we have worked for the same company - I worked for a few but that particular system was used by one company I worked for and those names ring a bell for me. I did find it a bit desperate.

For those who are judging - and you know, I do understand why people get judgy about it - I have done far, far worse things to get by. Really, really bad things that did genuinely screw me up. So unless you've really been down to the depths I think you might have to just take a step back. It's very easy to say you would never do something, but when your world is crumbling around you then you do sometimes have to make some very difficult decisions.

The line I was on got 35p a minute and gave ops 14p.

Actually, the telephone companies (eg BT) take the biggest chunk of the revenue earned. Then the text/sex company has to pay for equipment hire and advertising, and usually one or two staff members to run a help desk, and keep the cost to the customer reasonably competitive.

I have been looking into this work also. Can i ask who you work for.

My friend used to do that and earnt really good money, sometimes we were sat in her sitting room when she was doing it, hilarious as she was playing to the crowd (us) if the cash is good and you don't mind doing it carry on , if you get fed up with doing it you can give it up

Well I'd if pays the bills puts food on the table, and it seems to be going well then there's no harm.
However if lone parents were not forced out to work the minute their child starts school regardless of their circumstances then you would not have to be working for sex chat lines, but that's another story.

I did it for 3yrs to finance a degree. It's easy £ when you get a pool of regulars who like to chat for a good half hour etc & I was very popular as I like role play! I also had guys just lonely & all we did was talk. If you have a profile on their website, being very specific as to your 'interests' weeds weird ones out. You do get a target of at least 4. 5mins per call but you can easily pass that by flirting & tell me about you. Go for it.

Did you carry on with the work? I work these lines and for the hours I am pretty well paid, great support team, and as for pervs? If they dont want to talk then I make a cuppa and keep them on the line and I get paid for that. If they want to be silent I dont hang up and I get paid for that also . What could be simpler?

I don’t think the money is good enough, I am sure it must be worth more, does it go up with experience?
