I have noticed this mother at the school before, kissing her DS(8) full on the lips, half a dozen times, with wet sloppy kisses outside the classroom door. This morning she was directly in front of me and it was 'mmmmm......mmmmmm......mmmmm.......mmmmmmm....etc' in our faces. I kiss my DS wherever I can aim and catch him (head,cheek,anorak). Am I being weird? When I was at home, wet sloppy kisses on the lips were for people you were married to/in a partnership with. Or AIBU?

One of the nicest things I've seen is one of my (male) friends still kissing his dad on the lips at the age of 42.

I have just sent DS (nearly 7) off to bed with a big smacker full on the lips. This is how he loves to kiss me. Except in the playground, when we have an agreed code that a hand squeeze = a big kiss, because he has deemed himself too grown up for a kiss from mum in front of his friends. Except when he forgets and gives me a kiss anyway.

Lip kissing is not inappropriate. Fine, if you don't like it, don't do it FFS, but to use that word is vile - it has all sorts of overtones that are pretty offensive in this context.
